PNS-816D USER’S MANUAL 2W RPM (RADIO PACKET MODEM) DRAFT (Revised June 27, 2002) PALMNET SYSTEM PNS-816D User’s Manual Draft (Revised: June 27, 2002) WARNING: Output is specified at the antenna terminal of this module. This modular transmitter is only approved for OEM integration into final products that satisfy mobile operating requirements of 2.1091. The final product and its antenna must operate with a minimum separation distance of 25 cm or more from all persons using the antenna with the gain not exceeding 3 dBi to satisfy MPE compliance. Separate approval is required for this module to operate in portable products with respect to 2.1093 of FCC rules. Please review all necessary files uploaded to FCC OET site. This application is for Modular Approval with antenna gain equal to or less than 3 dBi for mobile/base and fixed station devices. The antenna(s) used for this transmitter must be installed with a minimum separation distance of 25 cm from all persons during normal operation to satisfy MPE compliance. The above Device complies with FCC Modular Approval Requirements and they are listed below: 1) The module is completed with its own reference oscillator. 2) The only connectors to the module are dc supply, rf and data port 3) The radio complies with MPE per 2.1091 for use with mobile or fixed base stations. 4) The module complies with FCC Part15, Subpart B, Class B – Unintentional radiators. 5) The receiver operating in 851 - 870 MHz complies with FCC Part 15, Subpart B – Radio Receivers. 6) End-users must comply with the instruction stated in the users’ manual: i. Labeling requirements for equipment using this modular transceiver ii. RF Exposure information for compliance with FCC Rules 2.1091 or 2.1093 are specified in the user manual for OEM, integrator and/or end user 7) The transceiver module has its own RF shielding. 8) The transceiver module has buffered modulation/data inputs 9) The transceiver module has its own power supply regulation. 10) The transceiver module was tested in a stand-alone configuration.
