This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits of a Class B digital device , pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a residential environment. This equipment generates, uses, and radiates radio frequency energy, and if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference . However, there is no guarantee that interf erence will not occ ur. American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 November 10, 2002 RE: FCC ID: QP4HC-5000 Attention: Rick McMurray / Kathy Grzovic I have a few comments on this Application. 1 On page 1 of the report you state the fundamental operating frequency is 13.5kHz. In the data on page 10 you show the operating frequency to be 12 kHz. On page 12 you show the fundamental you listed on page 1 as a spurious emission. Please define what your fundamental is and what the spurious emissions are. 2 On page 10 you state the limit is 120dBuV/m. However, you do not provide the test measurement distance. Also, the limit is 2400/fr kHz (2400/12 = 200uV/m or 46 dBuV/m). Correction to 3 meters is 46dBuV/m + 80 or 126dB. However, in order to claim this limit you must specify the test distance. If on the other hand, your distance is 10 meters as you state in the spurious emissions table, your limit for the fundamental on page 10 would be 106dBuV not 120dBuV. Please correct your report to reflect the correct limit, please provide a sample calculation of how you reached your limit and please provide what test distance at which your measurements were made. 3 The limit at 18kHz is not the same as the limit at 12 kHz. Please correct all your limit tables to be accurate to 15.209. Please remember, 15.31(f)(2) allows 40dB/decade, so please calculate your limits using the accepted FCC correction and calculation of the limit. 4 FYI, a simple set of photos showing the loop antenna at 3 meters from the EUT with the antenna wire on the floor would suffice.
