FCC RF EXPOSURE INFORMATION Read this information before using your phone In August 1996 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the United States with its action in Report and Order FCC 96-326 adopted an updated safety standard for human exposure to radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic energy emitted by FCC regulated transmitters. Those guidelines are consistent with the safety standard previously set by both U.S. and international standards bodies. The design of this phone complies with the FCC guidelines and these international standards. Use only the supplied or an approved antenna. Unauthorized antennas, modifications, or attachments could impair call quality, damage the phone, or result in violation of FCC regulations. Do not use the phone with a damaged antenna. Getting Started 5 Switch off your phone near flammable liquids, gases or explosive materials and obey all signs and instructions. Users are reminded of the need to observe restrictions on the use of radio equipment in fuel depots (fuel storage and distribution areas), chemical plants or where blasting operations are in progress. Areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere are often but not always clearly marked. They include below deck on boats; chemical transfer or storage facilities; vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane); areas where the air contains chemicals or particles, such as grain, dust or metal powders; and any other area where you would normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine. Do not touch the lower side of the battery on the phone and the exposed power connector of the charger with wet hands. Be careful not to place any conducting materials such as rings, necklaces, and coins on the exposed power connector of the charger. There is a danger of electrical short, which may cause fires or electric shocks. Do not impact or puncture the battery with sharp devices such as nail, etc. Do not impact or throw the phone. Do not cover the charger with any cloth or bedding while charging the battery. There is a danger of over heating, or fires. Keep the phone out of fires, high temperatures, and, direct sun for long period of time, which may cause damage to the phone. Do not leave the phone in a vehicle during the hot summer, and do not dry the phone in a heater, or microwave oven. There is a danger of explosion, or fires. Do not use the phone during a thunderstorm. There is a danger of lightening damage, or electric shocks, therefore, unplug the power cord from the charger. Do not pull the power cable forcibly, and do not place heavy object especially equipment on the cable. The damaged power cable may cause fires and electric shock. Plug the power cable firmly, and unplug the cable holding the plug properly. Damage cable may cause over heating and fires. 1. To use a phone, park the vehicle first. Always secure the phone in its holder; do not place the phone on the passenger seat or where it can break loose in a collision or sudden stop. Since swallowing or winding the earphone around the neck may cause suffocation and injury, do not use the earphone for other pur- pose except for phone call. Keep the phone and all its parts and accessories out of the small children’s reach. There is a danger of injurying the children or damaging the phone. If a child has to use the phone, please tell him how to use it with precautions. Putting the phone or battery in the mouth or using damaged battery may have an affect on the human body, and it may cause electric shocks, and exposure to the electromagnetic wave.
