Users Manual

HiTag 2 User manual The Xsense HiTag is a sensing unit of the Xsense Cold Chain Monitoring System. Placed inside one of the product cartons in a pallet, it monitors the temperature and relative humidity of the product’s immediate environment. When an Xsense Communication Unit (CU) is in the vicinity, data is transmitted to the Xsense System and immediately viewable to users via the secure, web-based Xsense application. Activating the tag is a simple two step procedure: 1. Press and hold the button for one second until the LED starts flashing 2. Check that the indicator LED is flashing. NOTE: The indicator LED is located beneath the plastic casing. If it does not slowly flash and stops after 10 seconds the HiTag failed to activate FCC ID: QYGHiTag2 This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference and (2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. NOTE: THE MANUFACTURER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY RADIO OR TV INTERFERENCE CAUSED BY UNAUTHORIZED MODIFICATIONS TO THIS EQUIPMENT. SUCH MODIFICATIONS COULD VOID THE USER’S AUTHORITY TO OPERATE THE EQUIPMENT. FCC Warning Modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer could void the user authority to operate the equipment under FCC Rules.

Operational Description

The HiTag referred to as the EUT in this report, is a Temperature and Relative Humidity Wireless Sensor which can log its samples or transmit them to the master unit (CU) through a proprietary wireless network. The HiTag may either transmit directly to the master unit or through another HiTag. When EUT comes in ran ge of the CU’s RF network they connect to it, directly or through oth er EUTs, and transfer their stored inf ormation to th e CU. The wireless communication network band is RF ISM 433MHz and there are 4 poss ible channels frequencies: Channel 1 – 433.75 MHz Channel 2 – 433.9 MHz Channel 3 – 434.05 MHz Channel 4 – 434.2 MHz The EUT RF is pass ive when no CU is adjacent (It lis ten only searching for a CU RF network). Declare maximum EIRP power: -10 dBm@ 434 MHz Type of modulation: FSK Antenna type: Ext ernal wire antenna 70 cm long The EUT’s MCU MSP430G2533 is running on external 32KHz crystal for acc urate clocking at low power modes and it uses internal calibrated 8MHz clock which divided by 2 and 4 to create a 4MHz and 2 MHz respectively internal clocks dri vers. The EUT RF Transceiver is clocked by external 32MHs crystal. The EUT’s power source: Single 3.0 V CR2450 or CR2 Lithium batteries.
