Mount the Antenna at the front windshield. 2. Antenna should not obstruct the driving view. Since the tinted portion of the glass can affect the range, do not place antenna on a tinted portion of the glass for maximum operating range. 3. Plug the antenna into the white 7-pin antenna connector. The operating range of the alarm is approximately 2000 feet. (Maximum 3000 feet) However, the operating range can change depending upon the vehicle, placement of the antenna, transmitter battery condition, and environmental condition. 1.2 Mounting the Control Module 1. The control module must be attached to an under dash surface that is flexible, such as a thick wire loom. Allow access to the sensitivity adjustment knobs for the internal dual stage shock sensor. It is important that the module has some freedom of movement. Unit should not bind. 2. Mount the control module using tie wrap. 1.3 Power and Ground Connection 1. Remove the fuses, and connect Red wires to constant source of +12VDC. 2. Choose a good chassis ground location. Connect Black wire to constant ground. 3. Circuit description of ET300A – RF Remote Unit 1). RF Board When the voltage of TX-B+ terminal which is connected to the MCU control board is applied to high, the transmitter is activated and the RF signal is radiated through Antenna. The Encoded Data from MCU control board is applied to the stage of FM MOD OSC (Q10,L17,C49,L18,C51,L19,C53,D3), and Modulated to FSK signal which frequency is 49.7444 MHz, and converted to the triple frequency of 149.233 MHz. The signal is fed to the LC tuning circuit (L16,C46) and filtered the unwanted signals, and fed to the Tripler Amp Stage (Q9,L15,C43). The final frequency is converted to 447.700 MHz and also tuned through the LC tuning circuit (L14,C41) and fed to the final Power Amplifier Stage (Q8,L13,CT3). The signal is filtered and matched there Impedance by the Antenna Matching circuit (L1,C1,L2,C38) and radiated from the Antenna. When the voltage of Battery-save terminal is applied to high, the receiver circuit is activated. The FSK modulated RF signal induced from the antenna and amplified by the receiver RF amplifier stage (Q1,Q2), also this signal is mixed by the 1 st Mixer amplifier stage (Q3), and converted the 1 st LO frequency to the 1 st IF frequency (21.4MHz). The 1 st LO stage is consisted of the 2-stage, the X-tal OSC/Tripler stage (Q7,L10,C34,L11,C35) is directly oscillated the frequency of 47.3666 MHz, and tripled to the frequency of 142.099 MHz. The signal is tuned by the LC tuning circuit (L9,C31), and fed to the triple amplifier stage (Q6,L8,C29). The 1 st LO frequency is 426.300 MHz. The 1 st IF signal from the 1 st Mixer stage is compensated the loss of the IF filter by the compensated amplifier stage (Q4), is fed to the FM IF IC (U1). This signal is mixed with the 2 nd LO frequency (20.945 MHz) and converted to the 2 nd IF frequency of 455 KHz. The signal is filtered by the Ceramic BPF (FL2), and amplified by the internal Limiter/amplifier stage of the FM IF IC, and demodulated the AF signal by the Discriminator (DS1). The signal is wave-shaped through the LPF stage (R10,R11,R12,C17,C18,C19) and fed to the internal Data Amp stage and converted to the digital data. The Data is fed to the MCU control board through the RX-Data terminal. 2). Control/Display Board When the voltage is supplied from the Battery (1.5V), the voltage is converted to 3V by the DC/DC converter stage (L1,D1,U1) and applied to the MCU (U3) stage. Simultaneously, test mode of the LCD is processed, the receiver and transmitter is turned to standby the mode. In order to reducing the operating times, we adopted to the Key Touch Wake-up function and the Watch-dog Sleep functions. When you pressed any button, the MCU wake up the Sleep mode, the operating will be started, and performed the functions of operating according to the button, and displayed the icon to the LCD panel, When the button is depressed, the mode is directly turned to the receiver mode and waited the data signal during any times, When the data is received well, then analyzed the status code and displayed to the LCD panel, and beeped to the Buzzer according to the status. The LCD is display the various icon and the status of remote conditions.

Test Procedure 1.1 Preliminary Testing for Reference Preliminary testing was performed in a KTL absorber-lined room to determine the emission characteristics of the EUT. The EUT was placed on the wooden table which has dimensions of 0.8 meters in height, 1 meter in length and 1.5 meters in width. Receiving antenna (Biconi-Log antenna : 26 to 2000 MHz or Horn Antenna : 1 to 18 GHz) was placed at the distance of 1 meter from the EUT. An attempt was made to maximize the emission level with the various configurations of the EUT. Sample Calculation The measured field strength was determined by averaging one complete pulse train including blanking interval because the pulse repetition time of the EUT(=94.0ms) does not exceeds 0.1 seconds (15.35(c)). See graphs of page 12 . With the resolution bandwidth set at 3 kHz, the EUT produces a pulse spectrum on the spectrum analyzer because the bandwidth of the analyzer is greater than or equal to the PRF (=454.5 Hz ). Therefore, as mentioned in HP Application Note 150-2 (page 11), the pulse desensitization(a p ) equals zero and the display amplitude is essentially a peak level. .
