DIMENSIONS WEIGHT OPERATING TEMP STORAGE TEMP WAVEFORM TYPE AMPLITUDE POWER SOURCE SIGNAL OUTPUT ETC, ETC, ETC TPM Tester Quick Start Guidei English Safety Precautions DANGER: When an engine is operating, keep the service area WELL VENTILATED or attach a building exhaust removal system to the engine exhaust system. Engines produce carbon monoxide, an odor- less, poisonous gas that causes slower reaction time and can lead to serious personal injury or loss of life. WARNINGS: •When working with hydraulic or fuel lines, liquids under pressure may escape and create a dangerous condition. Use adequate ventilation and make sure there are no sparks or possibility of sparks present that may ignite any vapor. •Wear an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) approved eye shield when testing or repairing vehicles. Objects propelled by whirling engine components or pressurized liquids escaping may cause personal injury. •Set the parking brake and block the wheels before testing or repairing a vehicle. It is especially important to block the wheels on front-wheel drive vehicles because the parking brake does not hold the drive wheels. •Do not drive the vehicle and operate the tester at the same time. Any distractions may cause an accident. Have one person operate the tester as another person drives the vehicle. •Maintain adequate clearance around moving components or belts during testing. Moving components and belts can catch loose clothing, body parts, or test equipment and cause serious damage or personal injury. •Automotive batteries contain sulfuric acid and produce explosive gases that can result in serious injury. To prevent ignition of gases, keep lit cigarettes, sparks, flames, and other ignition sources away from the battery at all times. •Refer to the service manual for the vehicle being serviced and adhere to all diagnostic procedures and precautions. Failure to do so could result in personal injury or otherwise unneeded repairs.…

Operational Description

The Tire Pressure Monitor Tool (TPMT) Operation Overview The TPMT transmits and receives RF signals with automotive components. These functions are anticipated to be performed in automotive repair shops and tire changing facilities. Function The TPMT transmits at one frequency: 125kHz. The TPMT can additionally receive two different frequencies: 315MHz and 433MHz. The TPMT also has three different clock sources. 125kHz Transmission The 125kHz transmission can be generated as a pulsed signal or as a continuous wave signal. In other words it can create a 125kHz signal that is turned on and off at a rate of 4kHz with a variable duty cycle. It can also create a higher powered continuous wave signal. 315MHz & 433MHz Receptions The TPMT is capable of receiving these two frequencies in either FSK or ASK styles. Clock Sources The TPMT utilizes a 4MHz ceramic resonator for the microcontroller, which in turn uses a PLL to generate an 8MHz internal use clock signal. The high frequency transmitters and receivers make use of crystals at the following frequencies: 10.178MHz; 13.225MHz. Power Source 3 “C” cell alkaline batteries power the TPMT. Testing The operation of the TPMT during test will be dependent upon suggests provided by ITS on the best way to accurately test the TPMT.

There are no other simultaneous applications. 1.2 Product Description TPMT Tire Pressure Monitor is a RF remote control transmitter operating in 125.683 KHz. The intended use of the TPMT Tire Pressure Monitor is to generate and transmit a RF signal to verify tire sensor functionality. The TPMT Tire Pressure Monitor is powered at 4.5Vdc with three “C” cell Alkaline Batteries. Antenna Description: Integrated antenna Sample Submitted: December 1, 2005 Test Work Started: December 1, 2005 Test Work Completed: December 5, 2005 1.3 Test Methodology Emission measurements were performed according to the procedures in ANSI C63.4-2003. All field strength radiated emissions measurements were performed in the semi-anechoic chamber, and for each scan, the procedure for maximizing emissions in Appendices D and E were followed. All field strength radiated tests were performed at an antenna to EUT distance of 3 and 10 meters, unless stated otherwise in the "Justification Section" of this Application. 1.4 Test Facility The test site facility used to collect the radiated and conducted measurement data is located at 7250 Hudson Blvd., Suite 100, Oakdale, Minnesota. This test facility has been fully described in a report dated on December 2005 submitted to FCC. Please reference the site registration number: 90706, dated December 6, 2005.
