It is my most sincere hope that you will be 100 percent completely satisfied with your new amplifier. This amplifier exists today because I could not purchase a solid state amplifier that was both legal limit and durable. The Prometheus represents 7 long years of full time research and development which I have personally conducted and supervised. The result is the first solid state amplifier commercially produced for the Amateur Service capable of 100% full duty cycle at the legal limit of 1500W. Each circuit board inside this unit has been personally designed by me to be assembled in house at Dishtronix to give you the ultimate service, performance, life, reliability and quality levels. The Dishtronix mission is to be the innovation and quality leader in both the solid state high power market and in customer satisfaction. Dishtronix was first to demonstrate continuous key 1500W CW the entire weekend of the 2004 and 2005 Dayton Hamvention. Your purchase and support insures that Dishtronix will be able to continue its pioneering efforts in the HF solid state high power arena. I know there are some other solid state units coming along. Please set my unit side by side with theirs and transmit 1500W into the dummy load with a brick on the key. Which unit appears to you to be purposely over designed? If your life depended on having an amplifier, which one would you prefer? If you need more persuasion, twist the drive knob to the right! Dishtronix products are not the least expensive because I do not ever cut corners off of lifetime or performance just to save a few dollars. In fact, I use the best components that I can buy without regard to cost. If good enough components don’t exist I make them or have them made. I know that you, my valued customer, expect more, which is why I can personally stand behind every DX2400L1 amplifier that I sell and why I am proud to put my name on my company. The DX2400L1 is built simply to be the best. If you have any problems with this unit, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. If there is anything I can do to make your Dishtronix amplifier experience more positive, please let me know. Thank you again for your valued business. Sincerely, Steven M. I request permanent confidentiality on the schematics pursuant to CFR47 Part 0.457 as a TRADE SECRET because I am applying for patents on a number of features and technology developed in this solid state amplifier. I request short term confidentiality on the user manual and photos as a TRADE SECRET because it contains information that could be helpful to business competitors and this product is obviously not on the market yet, because it must be Certified by you and because we are not ready for production. Hence this information is not in the public domain at least until the first unit is sold. Please note that the INSTRUCTION MANUAL include the following required exhibits: 1. FCC ID LABEL drawing and placement on back panel 2. EXTERNAL PHOTOS: Drawing of front and back panels submitted in lieu of back panel photo because we can not print the back panel artwork until we receive your Certification approval, because the FCC ID label is screen printed on the panel. 3. BLOCK DIAGRAM 4. OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION PARTS LIST/TUNE UP INFO: - Please note active devices are SD3933 transistors and that this is a solid state amplifier with NO tune up info. Schematics also show parts list. TEST REPORT - File includes gain measurements and output spectral purity on every amateur band. Also a BLOCK DIAGRAM is submitted in the report as the TEST SETUP PHOTO. INTERNAL PHOTOS are submitted in the DX2400-LPS4800-photos PDF file. Please note that on the electronic Form 731 Section II that the form would not submit unless all of the grant notes were selected. I didn’t think this device requires anything other than code BB - if that. Thank you very much for your assistance in this matter. Sincerely, Steven M. Dishop President, Dishtronix, Inc. D ishtronix

(Correspondence Reference Number: 31888 731 Confirmation Number: EA427384) Ms. Linda Elliot requested on 10/26/2006 that we submit: 1. an ID label drawing and location sketch, 2. external photographs (Correspondence Reference Number: 31943 731 Confirmation Number: EA427384) Mr. Andrew Leimer requested on 10/31/2006 that we submit: 1. external photograph exhibit, 2. parts list / tune up exhibit, 3. operational exhibit 4. demonstration of compliance with Section 97.317 24-35 MHz exclusion, 5. letter requesting confidentiality This information had been included in other documentation, but we now understand it should have been submitted in individual file documents. To correct this situation, we attach and upload all of these requested exhibits now through the electronic Form 731. Thank you very much for your assistance in this matter. Please contact me if you require anything further. Sincerely, Steven M. Dishop President, Dishtronix, Inc. D ishtronix

Dishop Bellefontaine, OH 43311 Fax +1 937 593 0146 [email protected] United States of America http://www.dishtronix.com ______________________________________________________________________________ October 31, 2006 FCC ID RXD2400L1 Section 97.312 (24-35 MHz) Compliance, Dishtronix Model DX2400L1 RF Deck. Band switching, transceive operation and final power amplifier bias of the DX2400L1 RF deck is all controlled by microprocessor. Selection of the band is made by pressing the front panel BAND key and scrolling through the bands, or from the data present from the transceiver on the back panel BAND DATA jack, or by sampling the exciter input frequency. The software does not allow the activation of the 24-35 MHz low pass filter on US models. Further, the bias to the power amplifier modules is controlled by the microprocessor via the PTT jack on the rear panel. The PTT jack also sequences the transmit / receive relays through the microprocessor. Additionally the incoming exciter frequency is measured by the microprocessor. If the incoming frequency falls in the prohibited band of operation, or if the band data from the transceiver falls in the prohibited band of operation, the microprocessor will ignore the PTT signal and refuse to sequence the T/R relay and refuse to engage the bias circuit. If the user were to somehow bypass the T/R relays, the processor still would not activate the 24-35 MHz filter. Hence the amplifier would operate into the wrong filter, thereby causing a very high and damaging SWR which would activate the SWR protection shutdown circuit, or destroy the final transistors resulting in the complete failure of the unit if the user somehow bypasses the SWR protection feature.. However, Section 97.315(3ii) allows a licensed amateur operator to modify one unit per year for operation at his station. Towards this end, Dishtronix will supply at additional cost a modification kit that can be run one time to allow the microprocessor to operate correctly in the 10-12 meter band. The modification requires the user to purchase from Dishtronix and install the computer programming interface kit and software, which Dishtronix will only supply to valid amateur radio license holders, as evidenced by proof of photocopy, fax or other acceptable electronic representation of the license. As a footnote, it is expected that the cost of this unit alone at over $8,000.00 USD, in addition to the aforementioned technical features will keep this unit out of the CB bands, which we know is the spirit behind the FCC rules prohibiting operation in the 24-35 MHz band. It is Dishtronix, Inc. intention to comply both with the letter and spirit of this Section’s requirements as the president and majority owner of the company is an active amateur radio licensee. Dishtronix is applying for patent protection on a number of engineering and design features and technology developed in this solid state amplifier. This unit represents a significant financial investment of 7 calendar years of research and development and the associated costs of many failures. To disseminate the schematic diagrams, internal photographs, manuals, parts list, test results, etc. would give a competitor an unfair advantage and very great head start on developing a competing unit and cause certain financial damage and loss of sales to Dishtronix Incorporated.
