FCC NOTICE This equipment complies with the FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment when installed as directed. This equipment should be installed and operated with fixed mounted antennas that are installed such that these antennas will have a minimum of 2m of separation distance between the antenna and all persons during normal operation. This device complies with Part 101 of the FCC Rules. This device is labeled with the following FCC ID number: S2N-L2500-2 PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION REQUIRED The L-2500 must be installed as a system by experienced antenna installation professionals who are familiar with Radio Frequency (RF) issues such as gains and losses, as well as local building and safety codes. Failure to do so will void the product warranty and may expose the end user to excessive RF hazard. Regulations regarding maximum antenna gains, power output and maximum permissible exposure vary from country to country. It is the responsibility of the end user to operate within the limits of these regulations and to ensure that the professional installers who install this device are aware of these regulations. All antennas are intended to be installed outdoors. Document No. D-L2500-001 L-2500 Users Manual 06/15/05 Version Draft 2 4 MICROWAVE RADIO RADIATION WARNING When installed properly, this product complies with the limits for human exposure to radio frequency (RF) fields adopted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The product is designed so that under normal working conditions, microwave radiation directly from the transceiver is negligible when compared with the permissible limit of continuous daily exposure recommended in the United States by ANSI/IEEE C95.1-1991 (R1997), Safety Levels with Respect to Human Exposure to Radio Frequency Electromagnetic Fields, 3kHz to 300GHz. Microwave signal levels that give rise to hazardous radiation levels can exist within transmitter power amplifiers, associated RF multiplexers, and antenna systems. Do not disconnect RF coaxial connectors, open microwave units, or break down any microwave screening while the radio equipment is operating. LASER SAFETY NOTICE This product complies with CFR 1040.10 and 1040.11. The product includes a Class I laser utilized as a fiber optic driver. Class I lasers do not emit radiationβ¦

Response to TCB Findings Tune-up procedure must be provided as an exhibit for licensed transmitters. Please provide the document. Per LOEA - The transceivers are configured in the factory and there are no tune-up requirements during the installation (this is a fixed frequency design) DC voltages and currents in final RF amplifier stage must be specified per 2.1033(c)(8). Per LOEA - There is no final RF amplifier stage in the Tx chain. A Gunn oscillator is the source of the Tx power and it runs off 9.6 volts and draws 200mA. The power level difference between the 73,5 and 83.5 GHz fundamentals must be justified. Please clarify with your client as the filing does not seem to provide power ratings and means of adjusting power levels (if applicable) about the device. It is not clear if this difference is intentional. Further examination of the calibration data of the mixer shows that there is a null within 100MHz of 83.5GHz. Our original mixer correction factor did not account for this null. The report has been updated with the new correction factor. Difficulties in making measurements at the high frequencies (alignment, reflections, etc) may also account for the readings of the 83.5GHz radio being less than that of the 73.5GHz version. Attached is an updated operational description, which indicates the maximum output of the device. 101.111(a)(2)(v), which calls 101.111(a)(2)(ii), requires a mask within the frequency range that is removed 50% to 250% of the authorized bandwidth from center frequency. Please justify/demonstrate how the device complies with the limit according to the mask formula provided in that section. The report has been updated with the mask data. Because mixers were used, we were unable to provide a plot. No emissions were found.
Frequency ranges are corrected to center frequencies. Thank you. Yunus Faziloglu TCB Review Engineer Curtis-Straus LLC

Maximum Human Exposure Calculation The equation used for calculating the power density at the surface of a parabolic aperture antenna is as follows: S = 4P/A where: S = maximum power density at the antenna surface P = power fed to the antenna A = physical area of the aperture antenna This Application: P = 8.3dBm = 6.76mW A = pi*r 2 = pi*(30.48cm) 2 = 2918.6cm 2 S = 4(6.76mW)/2918.6cm 2 = 0.0093mW/cm 2 Since the surface power density of this product passes the limit of 1mW/cm 2 , then the only distance requirement that applies is the requisite 2m for fixed antennas.

The product is the Loea Corporation L-2500 Millimeter Wave Radio. It is a transmitter that operates at either 73.5GHz or 83.5GHz depending on whether it is the Lo or Hi version. Test Methodology Radiated emissions testing is performed according to the procedures specified in TIA- 603. Since the device is always installed in one orientation, emissions were maximized by rotating the device around itβs vertical axis as well as varying the test antennaβs height and polarity.
