Raj Shah, Device Regulatory Affairs March 10 2014 CONFIDENTIAL Subject: FCC Certification for Smart Profile: COVER LETTER March 10 th 2014 Smart Profile is a skin cleansing system that consists of the following: Handle (called Smart Profile) with 13.56 MHz, 55 mw RFID tranceiver and brushhead(s) with passive RF ID tag (s) with 2 NiMH AA 1300 mAh batteries. Small inductive charging puck USB wall power supply (5 VDC @ 500 mA). When Smart Profile is charging it can not be operated. Also, the charging puck simply charges and there is no data communications between the puck and the handle. Also, Smart Profile is sealed with IPX7 rating and is not serviceable. Batteries or any other component can not be replaced. Smart Profile has fixed (no tune‐up needed) 13.56 MHz RF ID tranceiver IC with 55 mw rating. No tune‐up is required. When the On/Off switch is pressed about 100 ms pulse is sent. The (passive) brushhead tag is read and operating parameter such as (power, duration, etc) are adjusted specifically for the detected brushhead. Smart profile after obtaining all required approvals (FCC, IC, CE and others) will be sold in USA, Canada and EU. Following exhibits are submitted with this application: 1. Complete system photographs (external) (Smart Profile with brushhead, charging puck and USB wall power supply) 2. Internal photographs of Smart Profile PCBA without conformal coating. All production units will have conformal coating protecting the identitiy of key components. 3. User Guide with regulatory info in French as well. 4. Smart Profile ring drawing with FCC, IC and CE mark 5. Smart Profile: BOM, Schematics, PWB and PCBA drawings. 6. RF ID Antenna drawings (both sides). 7. 731 forms signed for FCC and Canada 8. Separate Confidentiality requests for FCC and IC NOTEs: 1. Clarisonic is a registered trademark of Pacific Bioscience Laboratories, Inc. a subsidiary of L'Oreal USA.

Raj Shah, Device Regulatory Affairs March 10, 2014 CONFIDENTIAL Smart Profile Operational Description March 10 th 2014 Smart Profile uses 13.56 MHz RF ID technology at low power (55 mw). Upon pressing the on‐off switch Smart profile transmits and receives (100ms or less) the information from the passive RF ID tag in the brush head. Smart Profile then adjusts the power level, duration etc designed for the particular brushhead (generally used for face/skin cleansing). The wireless communication standard followed is ISO‐15693 and the modulation scheme is described in that standard. Only data is transferred. The modulation index is 10%. Data rate is 26Kbps. Smart Profile can not be operated while it is charging.

SCOPE For details on the Scopes of our Accreditations, please visit: http://www.nwemc.com/accreditations/ REV 2013.03.8 MEASUREMENT UNCERTAINTY Measurement Uncertainty When a measurement is made, the result will be different from the true or theoretically correct value. The difference is the result of tolerances in the measurement system that cannot be completely eliminated. To the extent that technology allows us, it has been our aim to minimize this error. Measurement uncertainty is a statistical expression of measurement error qualified by a probability distribution. A measurement uncertainty estimation has been performed for each test per our internal quality document WP 342. The estimation is used to compare the measured result with its "true" or theoretically correct value. The expanded measurement uncertainty (K=2) for each test is listed below. Our measurement data meets or exceeds the measurement uncertainty requirements of the applicable specification; therefore, the test data can be compared directly to the specification limit to determine compliance. The calculations for estimating measurement uncertainty are based upon ETSI TR 100 028 (or CISPR 16-4-1 as applicable), and are available upon request. The following table represents the Measurement Uncertainty (MU) budgets for each of the tests that may be contained in this report.
