Prepare Installation Tools Prepare the following tools: Crosshead screwdriver Tape measure Marker pens Cutter knife Cable ties Hammer drill Installation Precautions Do not install the device with the interface side facing upwards. Do not install the device horizontally. Do not install the device tilted. WARNING! ZTE is not liable for any problem caused by device falling due to incorrect installation, such as property damage, personal injury or death. WARNING! The device must be installed downwards and vertically. It is not recommended to install the device in other directions (including but not limited to the above scenarios). ZTE is not liable for any 4 problem caused by the installation in other incorrect directions. Do not install the device at a high position (lightning area). The device must be placed in a well-ventilated environment for use. If possible, install the device in a place with less direct sunlight, for example, in the shade. The device must not be installed at the outlet of the exhaust pipe, or installed in a place where water passes through, for example, a rain shed. The device shall be installed in the position of the site survey design drawings and within the protection range of 45° of the lightning rod. In high mountains and areas with heavy lightning (the number of thunderstorm days per year exceeds 180), ensure that the device is within the protection range of 30°of the lightning rod. When the device is mounted on the wall, it should better be more than 1 m away from the grounding cable of the lightning rod and more than 20 cm away from the lightning protection zone. When installing the device against a pole, do not install a lightning rod on the pole. It is recommended that an independent lightning rod be installed near the pole. If a lightning rod is installed on the pole, it is recommended that the lightning rod be led out and grounded directly. The mounting pole must be firm, cannot be shaken and 5 must meet the wind-resistant requirements (not less than level-10 wind speed). The mounting pole should be vertical, and the vertical error should be less than ±2°. 6 Requirements Installation space requirements 7 Installation medium requirements: Metallic pole. A valid nano-SIM card 8 2. Insert the nano-SIM Card 1. Use the crosshead screwdriver to loosen the two screws and then remove the front cover. 9 2. Insert the nano-SIM card. WARNING! To avoid damage to the device, do not use any other kind of SIM cards, or any non-standard nano-SIM card cut from a SIM card. You can get a standard nano-SIM card from your service provider. 10 3. Locate the Installation Position 1. Use a network cable to connect the POE to your device. 2. Connect the POE to the power socket. 3. Check the SIGNAL indicator on your device to find the position. NOTES : Three lights show the signal strength. More lights on means better signals. You also can use the Install Helper Application to help you confirm the signal strength. 4. Locate the position with the best signal strength to install your device. 5. Disconnect the POE and the network cable. 11 4. Install the Device Install the Device Against a Pole 1. Loosen the clamps. 2. Pass the clamps through the mounting hole and fasten the two clamps to the pole. 12 Install the Device on a Wall 1. Mark the positions for drilling holes on the wall. The distance between two holes is 58mm. 13 2. Use a 6mm percussion drill to drill hole at the marked positions and install two expansion bolts. 3. Hang the MF266B on the expansion bolts. 14 5. Connect a Network Cable 1. Pass a network cable through the waterproof rubber ring, connect to the network port and then wind this cable as shown. 2. Put the cover back and tighten the screws. 15 6. Connect the POE Adapter 1. Connect the network cable which is from the ODU (MF266B) to the PWR LAN-OUT port on the POE adapter. 2. Use a network cable to connect the LAN-IN port on the POE adapter to the IDU. 16 7. Check the Installation Device Installation: The MF266B is installed firmly. The network cable is installed firmly. The nano-SIM card is installed. The network ports of the POE adapter are connected correctly. Cables: Verify that all cables are connected properly, cable connectors are secure. Cables should be laid in a clear and straight manner without crossing each other. There is no obvious curve or slant. Cables do not hang in the air or cross each other. 17 8. Start the Device and Access the Internet Connect the power plug of the POE adapter to the power socket. Your ODU (MF266B) will be powered on and connect to the Internet automatically. And then the IDU which is connected to the POE can access the Internet. 18 9. Change Your Device Settings You can change the device settings by logging in to the configuration web page. 1. View the label in the packing box to get the default Device Manager Website IP address and WebUI password. 2. Launch the Internet browser. Enter the Device Manager Website IP address in the Address bar. 3. Input the WebUI password and then click Login. 4. After the configuration web page is opened, you can change the password or other settings. NOTES: Please keep this label for future use. The default username is admin and the default password can be found on the device label. If you forget the changed WebUI password, you need to restore your device to the factory settings. Please click Reset on the login web page, enter the reset password written on the label and then click Apply. 19 Indicator Lights POWER Blue on: Power is on and POE power supply is working normally. Off: Power is off or POE power supply is working abnormally. LAN Blue on: The LAN port is connected. Off: No network cable is connected.
