Users Manual

1 Driveway Alert User Manual Model number: DA 2 This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: --Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. --Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. --Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. --Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. Modifications not authorized by the manufacturer may void users authority to operate this device. 3 Introduction Congratulation on buying this Driveway Alert! With this alert center, you can know the status of the monitoring premise without going outside or leaving your room. The Driveway alert employs wireless and microcomputer technology. Entry Alert main receiver works with sensors like EA/ps, EA/ms and EA/da to form a perfect alert system for maximum protection. How Driveway sensor works? Driveway sensor detects objects base on releasing and receiving ultrasonic wave. When moving object (at least 0.5 square meter) approach to detecting range ( 0.5 meter to 4 meters) ultrasonic reflection triggers sensor and transmit signal to alert center. Audio and visual signals will emit Figure 1. Driveway Sensor and Transmitter unit Installation 1.Installing the battery to driveway transmitter unit l Open battery compartment from the bottom of the units with a screw driver l Insert 4 size C batteries with correct polarity as indicated inside compartment l Close the battery door 2.Connecting the AC adapter to the main receiving unit. l Plug AC adapter to power outlet. l Connect DC plug to adapter connector, which can be found on the rear of the unit. l Install four AA batteries from the bottom of the main receiving unit. This is recommended for power backup purpose 3. Sensor Learning Unless the user finds that the transmitter does not work with the main receiving LED SENSOR 5 unit or there is interference from other wireless appliance, it is not recommended to change the transmitter code by the user. l At the rear panel of the main unit, there is a small learn key. Upon pressing the key, the unit will be in the learn code mode. Both open and close lights for the zone flash in this mode. Press this key to select the zone. l You will find a hole behind driveway sensor. You can use some pointed object to press the tiny button inside. Upon push the little switch, the code for the transmitter is emitted. When the main unit receives a valid code, a long beep will be heard. Each zone can accept up to 4 different transmitters. l Repeat for all the zones and matched transmitter. Make sure only one transmitter is transmitting the code during the process. Figure 5. Position of the learn code switch of the main unit and the transmitter 4. Mount Driveway sensor next to driveway a)Join 2 tubes with tube connector(see figure 6a) b)Insert tube on the lawn area next to your driveway, and leave at 18-15 inches tube expose above ground level ( see figure 6b) c)Install sensor holder on top of the tube ( see figure 6c) d)Install driveway sensor on top of the sensor holder with screws (see figure 6d) e) Point sensor to monitor driveway, and make sure the sensor is perpendicular to driveway ( see figure 6e) Code settingCode setting button CODE SETTING BUTTON 保證與車道方向垂直 <一> NEEDETUBE FASTENINGS TUBE 保證與水平面垂直安裝 保證與車道方向垂直 Driver way 保證與水平面平行安裝 SCREW SCREW SENSOR MAIN 保證與水平面平行安裝 SCREW 6 5. Zone labeling There is label on the top of the ENTRY ALERT covered by the transparent film. Write down description to match with the transmitter units for easy recognition. Fill in the zone label for the corresponding transmitter when more then one transmitter involves in deployment. 6. Inhibit of all sound There is a sound disable switch at the rear panel of the main unit. All beeping is off when the switch is at an OFF position. The factory default setting is ON. 7 Trouble Shooting Specifications Driveway sensor Power 4 size C batteries Battery life ~ 1 year Detecting range 0.5 meter to 4 meters Max. sensors supported 16 Made in China Rev: 1.0 SYMTOM POSSIBLE REASON CORRECTION 1 No function Battery is running out. Replace battery. Battery is inserted in the reverse direction. Re-insert the battery in the right direction. The AC adapter is not connecting properly to the main receiving unit Check the connection to the AC adapter. The transmitter is too far away from the receiving unit. Move the two units closer. 2 Intermittent operation The battery in the transmitter is getting low after prolonged use. Replace with new battery.

Operational Description

FCC ID: SSO-EADA Circuit Description The 315MHz crystal oscillator drives the base of Q2 the final/buffer amplifier. The modulation provided by IC. The output of Q2 has the matching network consisting of L2 and C24 that limit the harmonic content and effect the proper coupling of the antenna to the output stage. Antenna, Ground and Power Source There is no external antenna. There is no external ground connection. The ground is only that of the printed circuit board. Electric current is supplied by a 6 Volt (“C” size battery x 4) primary battery
