In the event of a product defect during the warranty period, call EPD for a Return Merchandise Authorization number. EPD will, at its option, unless otherwise provided by law: (a) correct the defect by product repair without charge for parts or labor; (b) replace the product with one of the same or similar design; or (c) refund the purchase price. All replaced pa rts and products become the property of EPD, Inc. New or reconditioned parts and products may be used in the performance of warranty service. Repaired or replaced parts are warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period. You will be charged for the repair or replacement of the product made after the expiration of the warranty period. This warranty does not cover: (a) damage or failure caused by or attributable to acts of God, abuse, accident, misuse, improper or abnormal usage, failure to follow instructions, improper installation or maintenance, alteration, lightning or other incidence of excess voltage or current; (b) cosmetic damage; (c) transportation, shipping or insurance cost ; or (e) cost of product removal; (f) pager batteries; (g) electrical contacts, installation, set-up service adjustment or reinstallation. Cat# 90− 002 Rev. 2 The BattSwitch Installation and Operating Guide Embedded Processor Designs, Inc INTRODUCTION TROUBLE SHOOTNG Congratulations on your purchase of the BattSwitch for the PlexCall system. EPD is dedicated to engineering the most innovative paging system possible. Your paging system is driven by microprocessor technology, which provides an endless array of features and convenience. To install the Battswitch, place the unit on a flat table surface and attach with 2 one half inch wood screws. To operate the BattSwitch, press the red button, the unit will illuminate and signal the PlexCall system that service is requested. When the server arrives at the table, th ey should press the BattSwitch to turn off the unit. FCC INFORMATION This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This e quipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and if not installe d and used in accordance w ith the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communica tions. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If th is equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: ƒ Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. ƒ Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. ƒ Connect the equipment into an ou tlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. ƒ Consult the dealer or an experien ced radio/TV technician for help. This equipment has been certified to comply with the limits for a class B computing device, pursuant to the FCC Rules. In order to maintain complianc e with FCC regulations, shielded cables must be used with this equipment. Operation with non-appr oved equipment or unshielded cables is likely to result in interference to radio and TV recepti on. The user is cautioned that changes and modifications made to the equipment without the approval of manufacturer could void the user’s authority to operate this equipment. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
