Setup procedure of SW0001A 1. °C / °F (Degree Celsius / Degree Fehrenheit) 2. Channel 3. Detachable Line out Sensor THINGS TO NOTE BEFORE YOU START Place the unit away from any interfering sources like computer monitor, TV set, etc. The distance should be at least 2 meters Within ferro-concrete rooms (basement, superstructures) the received signal is naturally weakened. In extreme case, place the unit close to a window. Position the remote unit should be placed away from direct sunlight, rain or snow, though the remote sensor unit is weather proof. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1) This device may not cause harmful interference, 2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Power Source: This unit is operated by 2 batteries (2xUM4 “AAA” size), alkaline batteries are recommended (not included). SETTING UP YOUR UNIT, POWER UP ROUTINE Place the main unit and the remote sensor on the table, with distance around 1 meter. Please note the following steps: When the main unit is powered up 1. The indoor temperature (and the humidity – for those weather forecast versions) will be displayed 2. Place 2 x AAA batteries to the remote sensor unit, ensure to put batteries in the right polarity 3. Press [CHANNEL] key on the main unit to select a certain channel (eg. ch 1); 4. Press & hold [°C/°F] key on the main unit for 3 seconds or more until the channel number starts to flash and outdoor temperature reading display of “ - - -“ performs scrolling action; 5. Press [CHANNEL] key on the remote unit to select the same channel with main unit (say ch 1); 6. Press & hold [°C/°F] key on the remote unit for 3 seconds or more, and then release the key when the antenna icon on remote display starts to flash for 5 seconds; (It is noted that after 5 seconds later, the remote unit must exit synchronization mode automatically & the antenna icon stops flashing) 7. The main unit will display the outdoor temperature if the setting is ok. 8. If the main unit fails to receive the signal (that is, no outdoor temperature reading displayed on the main unit LCD display), press & hold [°C/°F] key on the remote unit for 3 seconds or more to re-enter synchronization mode; REMARK: 1. If remote sensor becomes malfunctioned during setup, please take out the battery and install again (which acts as a “reset” function.). 2. Press “CHANNEL” of the main unit will toggle between the remote sensors 1, 2 or 3 (maximum 3 remote sensors). 3. The “CHANNEL” button of the remote sensor is used to label which channel the remote sensor is being used. Information for remote sensor unit The remote sensor unit is a wireless device that monitor the temperature at the location where you placed and transmit to the main unit using 433.92MHz frequency. It is rain proof, however, care must be take, see “Where to place the remote sensor” Where to place the remote sensor after setting up The remote sensor unit can be mounted to the wall. Drill the screw onto the wall, then hang the wall mount holder onto the screw and place the unit on the wall mount holder. Before you mount the wall, please ensure the following notes: Notes on 433 MHz reception: 1. The remote sensor unit is mounted within the distance (20 meters) that the main unit is able to receive the transmission. 2. Not to place the transmitter on the metal surface, or close to big metal substances such as garage door, this will affect transmission range. 3. The remote sensor unit should be placed under shelter and not exposed under direct sunlight rain, because extreme weather such as too hot or too cold may weaken the 433MHz signal. 4. The normal operation range of remote sensor is -20 ̊C to +60 ̊C. Please take the remote sensor into an indoor environment if the temperature is out of this range. You may use the detachable line out sensor to detect the outdoor environment in this case and this unit can detect Outdoor Temperature from -50 ̊C to +60 ̊C with 0.1% resolution (with line out sensor). 5. If you find outdoor temperature show “---“ on the display, it means the signal is interfered or the remote unit is out of battery. You may place the remote unit closer to the Main Unit and keep clear inference obstructions in the above or replace with the battery.
