Hyundai MOBIS Car Audio Manual Knowing your Vehicle How vehicle audio works AM and FM radio signals are broadcast f rom transmitter towers located around your city. They are inter cepted by the radio antenna on your vehicle. This signal is then received by the radio and sent to your vehicle speakers. When a strong radio signal has reached your vehicle, the precis e engineering of your audio system ensures the best possible qu ality reproduction. However, in some cases the signal coming to your vehicle may not be strong and clear. This can be due to fa ctors such as the distance from the radio station, closeness of other strong radio stations or the presence of buildings, bridg es or other large obstru ctions in the area. AM broadcasts can be received at greater distances than FM broa dcasts. This is because AM radio waves are transmitted at low f requencies. These long, low frequency radio waves can follow the curvature of the earth rat her than travelling straight out into the atmosphere. In additi on, they curve around obstructions so that they can pr ovide better signal coverage. FM broadcasts are transmitted at high frequencies and do not be nd to follow the earth's surface. Because of this, FM broadcast s generally begin to fade at short distances from the station. Also, FM signals are easily a ffected by buildings, mountains, or other obstructions. These c an result in certain listening conditions which might lead you to believe a problem exists wit h your radio. The following conditions are normal and do not in dicate radio trouble: • Fading - As your vehicle moves away from the radio station, t he signal will weaken and sound will begin to fade. When this o ccurs, we suggest that you select another stronger station. • Flutter/Static - Weak FM signals or large obstructions betwee n the transmitter and your radio can disturb the signal causing static or fluttering noises to occur. Reducing the treble le vel may lessen this effect unti l the disturbance clears. • Station Swapping - As a FM signal weakens, another more power ful signal near the same frequen cy may begin to play. This is b ecause your radio is designed to lock onto the cleare st signal. If this occurs, sele ct another station with a stronger signal. • Multi-Path Cancellation - Radio signals being received from s everal directions can cause dist ortion or fluttering. This can be caused by a direct and reflected signal from the same station, or by signals from two stations w ith close frequencies. If this o ccurs, select an other station u ntil the condition has passed. Hyundai MOBIS Car Audio Manual Using a cellular phone or a two-way radio When a cellular phone is used inside the vehicle, noise may be produced from the audio equipment. This does not mean that some thing is wrong with the audio equipment. In such a case, use the cellular phone at a pl ace as far as possible from the audio equipment. Care of discs • If the temperature inside the vehicle is too high, open the v ehicle windows for ventilation b efore using your vehicle audio. • It is illegal to copy and use MP 3/WMA files without permissio n. Use CDs that are created only by lawful means. • Do not apply volatile agents such as benzene and thinner, nor mal cleaners and magnetic sprays made for analogue disc onto CD s. • To prevent the disc surface from getting damaged. Hold and ca rry CDs by the edges or the edges of the center hole only. • Clean the disc surface with a piece of soft cloth before play back (wipe it from the center to the outside edge). • Do not damage the disc surface or attach pieces of sticky tap e or paper onto it. • Make sure objects other than CDs are not inserted into the CD player (Do not insert more than one CD at a time). • Keep CDs in their cases after use to protect them from scratc hes or dirt. • Depending on the type of CD-R/CDRW CDs, certain CDs may not o perate normally according to manufacturing companies or making and recording methods. In such circu mstances, if you still continue to use th ose CDs, they may cause the malf unction of your vehicle audio s ystem. ✽ NOTICE - Playing an Incompatible Copy Protected Audio CD Some copy protected CDs, which do not comply with the internati onal audio CD standards (Red Book), may not play on your vehicl e audio. Please note that if you try to play copy protected CDs and the CD player does not p erform correctly the CDs maybe defective, not the CD player. Hyundai MOBIS Car Audio Manual Using RADIO, SETUP, VOLUME AUDIO CONTROL 1. “FM” Button Turns to FM mode and toggles FM1and FM2 when the button is pres sed each time. 2. “AM” Button Pressing the button selects the AM band. Information about the FHSS characteristics: 1.5.1. Pseudorandom Frequency Hopping Sequence The channel is represented by a pseudo-random hopping sequence hopping through the 79 RF channels. The hopping sequence is unique for the piconet and is determined by the Bluetooth device address of the master; the phase in the hopping sequence is determined by the Bluetooth clock of the master. The channel is divided into time slots where each slot corresponds to an RF hop frequency. Consecutive hops correspond to different RF hop frequencies. The nominal hop rate is 1 600 hops/s. 1.5.2. Equal Hopping Frequency Use The channels of this system will be used equally over the long-term distribution of the hopsets. 1.5.3. Example of a 79 hopping sequence in data mode: 02, 05, 31, 24, 20, 10, 43, 36, 30, 23, 40, 06, 21, 50, 44, 09, 71, 78, 01, 13, 73, 07, 70, 72, 35, 62, 42, 11, 41, 08, 16, 29, 60, 15, 34, 61, 58, 04, 67, 12, 22, 53, 57, 18, 27, 76, 39, 32, 17, 77, 52, 33, 56, 46, 37, 47, 64, 49, 45, 38, 69, 14, 51, 26, 79, 19, 28, 65, 75, 54, 48, 03, 25, 66, 05, 16, 68, 74, 59, 63, 55 1.5.4. System Receiver Input Bandwidth Each channel bandwidth is 1㎒. The system receivers have input bandwidths that match the hopping channel bandwidths of their corresponding transmitters and shift frequencies in synchronization with the transmitted signals. 1.5.5. Equipment Description 15.247(a)(1) that the rx input bandwidths shift frequencies in synchronization with the transmitted 15.247(g): In accordance with the Bluetooth Industry Standard, the system is designed to comply with all of the regulations in Section 15.247 when the transmitter is presented with a continuous data (or information) system. 15.247(h): In accordance with the Bluetooth Industry Standard, the system does not coordinate it channels selection/ hopping sequence with other frequency hopping systems for the express purpose of avoiding the simultaneous occupancy of individual hopping frequencies by multiple transmitters.
