Users Manual

Minaska Outdoors 6517 Platte Avenue Lincoln, Nebraska 68507 Phone: 1-877-646-2752 www.minaskaoutdoors.com User Manual Call Base Receiver Unit: • Load sounds on Compact Flash Card (See: Loading Sounds On Card) • Turn unit on by rotating volume switch clockwise to desired volume level • Raise base antenna to vertical NOTE: Although The Bandit can operate on the ground with respectable range. To obtain maximum range place unit a few feet off of ground on a stable surface. Suspending from a tree by the handle with a sturdy strap also will improve operation range. Call Remote Transmitter: • Turn power switch on top of unit to “ON” • “BANK” Button: Select sound file by first selecting the sound bank by pressing “Bank” button and within a few seconds pressing the respective number button “0-9”. If you desire bank 0 the unit needs no bank selection after power up. • “0 – 9” Buttons: A bank of ten sounds is now ready for selection, select you sound by again pressing the respective number button “0-9”. • Once the remote is in a bank it will stay in that bank until a different bank is selected with the “Bank” button or the remote is powered off. The remote always powers up to default “Bank 0”. TIP: Organize up to 100 sounds in the given banks by category. REMEMBER: When you select a bank you can switch between the sounds of that bank with a single button push without reselecting the bank again. • “P” Button: To PAUSE the sound press the “P” button once. To resume the sound press the “P” again, or select a sound file. • “Aux: Button: To operate the auxiliary relay output for decoy operation press the “Aux” button once to close the relay, press it once again to open the relay contacts. Contacts are rated: < 50V AC/DC and < 100mA • “ + ” & “ - “ Buttons: Push and hold increase or decrease the volume of playback Page 1 Loading Sounds On Card: • Remove compact flash card from call and insert in a card reader on you computer • Open Windows Explorer, the card will show up as a drive on your computer • Drag .mp3 sounds on to the card • Rename the file names in proper the call recognizable format below • Sounds must have a 3 digit prefix in the file name for the call to recognize a given sound. Ex: 001 is Bank 0 file 1 - 099 is Bank 9 file 9 So a typical file name should look as follows: 076 CoonPuppies.mp3 This file will be stored in bank 7 file 6, only one file with a given numbered prefix may be on the compact flash card. In other words don’t double up the prefixs, the call doesn’t care about anything but the first three characters of a file name. TIP: Organize up to 100 sounds in the given banks by category. REMEMBER: When you select a bank you can switch between the sounds of that bank with a single button push without reselecting the bank again. • After card has been changed to desired format, reinsert into call with care using light pressure it only goes in one way, with label facing out.
