Every effort has been made to design and manufacture a quality product that will meet your surveillance needs for many years. Please visit our website (www.advmw.com/video ) for information on other video products and for downloadable datasheets, operation manuals, and frequency selection charts. If you have any questions regarding this product or if you require technical assistance, please feel free to contact us at the telephone numbers below: Dyplex Communications Advanced Microwave Products (416) 675-2002 (775) 345-9933 1.1 Purpose and Function VT15 Series Video/Audio Transmitters are developed and manufactured by Advanced Microwave Products (AMP) and distributed by Dyplex Communications (Dyplex). Transmitters are designed for color or monochrome video and audio surveillance. Transmitters are best operated with AMP’s VR75 Series Video Receivers but are compatible with most other video receivers on the market. 1.2 Capabilities AMP Transmitters are designed for harsh environments and feature robust packaging and connectors. Compact package sizes provide versatility in unit placement and system applications. AMP Transmitters require no tuning or adjustments. All units operate directly with any standard video camera. Power requirements are +9 to +16 Vdc and can be derived from batteries, simple power supplies, or vehicle power. Whip or “rubber duck” antennas are adequate for most transmitter applications. A variety of standard and high performance antennas are available through Dyplex. AMP Transmitters and Receivers are standard equipped with video inversion, selectable via a slide switch, for a basic level of security. VT15 Series Transmitters are available with many options allowing customization to specific applications. Most common options include frequency selection (full band selection), high RF output power (up to 2 Watts), dual power operation (any two power levels), PAL video, and one Line / Mic level selectable audio subcarrier or two Line-Only audio subcarriers. Audio subcarriers are only available on 250 mW VT15 Series models. If our standard products and options do not satisfy your requirements, please contact us. Our experienced design team welcomes your custom specifications. VT15/OM Rev-A 2 1.3 Specifications RF Characteristics Frequency Range (Specify): UHF 340.00 - 399.90 MHz …

From: Roland Gubisch ES-BOX Sent: Friday, April 27, 2007 4:28 PM To: David Chernomordik ES-MPK Cc: Terre Wolak ES-ATL Subject: Advanced Microwave Products FCC ID: U8KVT15C, U8KVT30SC, U8KVT50SC Attachments: BMS RF safety information.pdf; Advanced Microwave Grant notes.doc David, Review of these three applications for video transmitters is complete, and the following points are noted for all applications: ADMINISTRATIVE (1) Each confidentiality request should reference only one FCC ID. Please provide 3 separate requests, one for each application. TECHNICAL (1) These transmitters have sufficient RF output to require user precautions in the operating manual. For example, the field from a dipole antenna attached to the 5W transmitter exceeds the MPE limit in 1.1310 at distances smaller than 25 cm from the antenna. Use of a higher-gain antenna would require larger separation dstances and adequate installation and user guidance. There is no such guidance presently in the operating manual. Please provide an RF exposure evaluation for each transmitter, and update the operating manuals with the equivalent guidance. A sample is attached, taken from a filing for a transmitter operating in the same frequency band and at similar RF power. A draft Grant Note is also attached, which references the material to be added. Certification can proceed as soon as these issues are addressed. Thank you, Roland

RF Exposure evaluation (FCC 2.1091) The EUT is a wireless device used in a mobile/fixed application, at least 20 cm from any body part of the user or nearby persons. The maximum conducted power is 5 W. According to the Applicant, the transmitter is most often used with 2 dBi monopole whips, but it can be used with about anything depending on the application. Using the formula for the Power Density S = EIRP/ 4πD 2 , the distance D, where the Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) satisfies the FCC 1.1310 limit (S=MPE) for General Population/Uncontrolled Exposure, can be calculated as: D ≥ √(EIRP/ 4πS) The MPE Limit in the frequency range 2450 – 2483.5 MHz is 10 W/m 2 . In the Table below, the minimum distance D (in meters) is presented for different antenna gain used with the 5 Watt and 2 Watt transmitters.
