User Manual Page 1 of 6 Adjustable Power System Warning: "Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment Adjustable Power System can be applied on the sofa, chair and adjustable bed in the house, office, hotel and entertainment places. It is of high quality, and it realizes the automation of furniture, and provides a big market for furniture manufacturers. 1. Configuration of the adjustable system The adjustable system consists of actuator, transformer and remote controller. 1. Actuator Active ring of the actuator moves back and forth when it’s driven by spindle which rotates under the force driven by the spindle guide with power connection. When the actuator is installed on the mechanism, it can drive the mechanism to open and close. The double limit switches help increase the accuracy of the traveling stroke. The quality of actuator is consistent, and it’s safe and of high torque and high durability with heavy load capability. Critical parameters: User Manual Page 2 of 6 Max speed with no load: 19.9 mm/s Max load allowed: 330±10% kg Smallest installation size: 156 mm Stroke: 333±1 mm Life of cycles: ≥15000 Distance range for effectiveness of remote controller ≤4.0 m 2. Transformer The transformer can be applied on the sofa, chairs and bed together with the JLDQ actuators. The transformer has a shut off function when it’s overloaded. The transformer works under the 24v DC. The frequency of transformer receiver is 433.92MHz. Main technical index: Input voltage: 120VAC, 60HZ, Input current: 1A Output voltage: 24VDC Output current: 3 A Working duration: 10% (1 min ON, and 8 mins OFF) Frequency of receiver: 433.92MHz 3. Remote controller The remote controller consists of PCB, top and bottom cover and buttons. It activates the movement of the actuator by pressing on the buttons. User Manual Page 3 of 6 Main technical index: Sending frequency: 433.92MHz Sending power: <10mW Sending method:ASK Battery: 3 pcs of AAA X, 4.5V, 12V Working current: 3mA 2. Installation: Press on the buttons of the remote controller, and the active ring on the actuator will move back and forth. Fix the actuator and transformer onto the furniture mechanism, and connect all the parts per picture above. Install the plug, and press on the button of the remote controller. Safety Points: 1. Before using the transformer, please confirm the local voltage supplied by your utility provider is the same as the voltage requirement of the transformer. 2. Before using the system, please confirm the proper batteries are applied. 3. Shut off the power before installing or removing the plugs and wires. User Manual Page 4 of 6 4. The transformer can not be used in a humid atmosphere. 5. The transformer operates in a temperature range of 0 to 40°C. System Configuration User Manual Page 5 of 6 User Manual Page 6 of 6 Connection interface Backup battery 2 pieces of 6-F22 9V square batteries are applied in the backup battery box, so that the reclined mechanism can be retracted when the power is shut off. Please don’t use the backup battery to drive the power system as the power stored in the battery is very limited. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. Input from actuator Battery backup box

Date: October 17, 2006 Reference: FCC ID UMYJLD-1 1) Block diagram is missing frequencies and transmitter detail. Block diagram revised. 2) Operational description does not address how the transmitter is activated (manual control - transmits once per bush or continues to transmit until button released). If it transmits until the button is released then the button cannot be "locked" into an on position, it must be held down by the user. The Test Report refers to manually activated with transmission less than 5 seconds after automatic deactivation - please explain. The test report was revised to explain that the transmission only occurs when the button is pushed. The button does not lock into place. 3) Operational description does not address the transmission code with enough information to support the claim for the duty cycle calculation. It appears that the transmitter is capable of transmitting at least two codes (one for extend and one for retract). The operational description should better explain the transmitted sequence to support the use of the correction factor as being the worst case (highest) duty cycle. Alternatively, compliance may also be demonstrated by comparing the peak measurements to the (correct) average limit. The test report was revised to show the duty cycle for both retract and extend transmission codes. 4) Please provide a plot showing the transmission duration - the plot should indicate the instant at which the button was released and the time between the button being released and end of the transmission. The test report was revised to show the plot. 5) Limit at 1301 MHz is incorrect and should be the general limit of 54dBuV/m average and 64dBuV/m peak as the emission is in a restricted band. Please correct the data - the data suggests that the emission is below the limit. The test report was revised. 6) Occupied bandwidth measurement (20dB bandwidth) - per ANSI C63.4 analyzer video bandwidth shall be greater than the resolution bandwidth, and the resolution bandwidth shall be at least 1% of the measured bandwidth. The measurement was made with RB=120kHz and VB = 3kHz. Note that the limit is 0.25% of 433.7MHz (1.08 MHz), so resolution bandwidth should be >= 10kHz. The limit calculated in the table on page 53 is incorrect. The test report was revised. Date: October 25, 2006 Reference: FCC ID UMYJLD-1 Thank you for your response to my previous questions. They resolved many of the issues. I do need the following, however, to complete the application. 1) It appears that the grantee code is no longer valid, please check with your client. I have also asked the FCC administrative section to see if they know what is wrong. Administrative issue has been resolved via EASADmin ... grantee code was changed from UMY to UDQ. Label, external photos showing label and report all updated with new grantee code. 2) The plot showing the transmission duration is still too short to clearly demonstrate that the transmission is less than 5 seconds long. A plot of at least 5 seconds (preferably 10 – 20 seconds duration) with the transmission burst somewhere in the middle of the plot would help demonstrate that a single transmission is less than 5s long. Plot inserted into report

EUT description: The transmitter is powered by 1*12V alkaline battery. It is manually operated and has two buttons to control the signal. One is “extend” and the other is “retract”. It transmits once per push and will cease transmitting immediately after the button is released. The extend button is to switch the No.12 pin of the coding chip. The retract button is to switch the No.12 pin of the coding chip. So the coded transmitting signal is different. The receiver is connected to motors and the motors can move according to the transmitter. How to remote control the actuator. 1. Power the transmitter, power the receiver and connect the actuator to the receiver. 2. Press the button on the transmitter. 3. The receiver can receive signal from transmitter and decode, then it can control the actuator to perform action. Frequency bands description: EUT uses 433.77MHz Circuit description: About the circuit, there is one 433.75MHz crystal and the associated circuit, they consist of the oscillatory circuit. Then the signal can be transferred to the coding chip PT2262. The coded signal can be sent to internal antenna. The power of the two coding output is controlled by two buttons, which are corresponding to the extend mode and the retract mode.
