EBU series electronic ballast instruction manual z Warning: 1. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble or refit this ballast. Please consult a qualified electrician for installation and wiring. 2. Do not install on the tinder surface. 3. Do not expose to rain or water logging. 4. Please use the designated type lamps, otherwise the product will be damaged completely. 5. Make sure the power is off before installing or maintenance this ballast. z Installation 1. Shut off the power supply. 2. Prepare the necessary tool and material (such as: wire cutters, screwdriver, insulating tape) 3. According to the product’s power and type lamps to prepare lamps. 4. According to the product's dimension and mounting holes to determine the correct installation place 5. According to the wiring instruction of product label to install lamp. 6. Check and make sure the wiring is correct before turn on power. z Operation & maintenance 1. Power on and off control by the wall switch, turn power on to let ballast operate. 2. In order to prolong lamp's life, not to turn power on and off again and again in a short time. 3. The lamp is wearing parts, it needs periodic replacement, make sure the power is off before replacing the lamp. 4. The product has protection function for lamp abnormity (end of life, dropout or break). Replace it when the lamp becomes flicker or darkening. FCC NOTE: The manufacturer is not responsible for any radio or TV interference caused by unauthorized modifications to this equipment. Such modifications could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. This product may cause interference to radio equipment and should not be installed near maritime safety communications equipment or other critical navigation or communication equipment operating between 0.150-30MHz

Operational Description

Electronic ballast operating principle This series of electronic ballast has six models, power 16W~40W. The circuit of the unit comprises EMC filter & AC/DC transfer circuit, DC/AC high frequency transfer circuit, High frequency booster circuit, Control circuit and Protection circuit for lamp abnormity. 1 .EMC filter & AC/DC transfer circuit: It comprises C3, L1, D~D4, C4, and C6; The EMC filter remove high frequency noise and interferences which were from network supply and this ballast. In the AC/DC transfer circuit a 120VAC input is rectified by the diode D1~D4 to a DC voltage. 2. DC/AC high frequency transfer circuit: It comprises Q1, R8, Q2 and R9; it converts the DC voltage into a high frequency AC voltage that is 20-30 kHz. 3. High frequency booster circuit: It comprises L2 and C10; it boosts the high frequency AC voltage high enough to start the lamp, it stabilities the lamp current when the lamp is operating. 4. Control circuit: It comprises T1(A、B、C)、R6 and R7; It supplies high frequency control signal for DC/AC high frequency transfer circuit. 5. Protection circuit for lamp abnormity: It comprises C11 ,R13,D9~D10,R12,C8, TH1,C7, and Z1; it supplies signal for control circuit to let the DC/AC high frequency transfer circuit stop working when the lamp become abnormity (end of life, dropout or break ).
