- 1 - This model phone meets the government’s requirements for exposure to radio waves. This phone is designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communications Commission of the U.S. Government. The exposure standard for wireless mobile phones employs a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6W/kg. *Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions accepted by the FCC with the phone transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified power level, the actual SAR level of the phone while operating can be well below the maximum value. This is because the phone is designed to operate at multiple power levels so as to use only the poser required to reach the network. In general, the closer you are to a wireless base station antenna, the lower the power output. The highest SAR value for the model phone as reported to the FCC when tested for use at the ear are: on the 800MHz: 0.568/ 10g, 0.846/ 1g, on the 1900MHz: 0.446/ 10g, 0.869/ 1g, and when worn on the body, as described in this user guide, are: on the 800MHz: 0.362/ 10g, 0.520/ 1g, on the 1900MHz: 0.252/ 10g, 0.424/ 1g (Body-worn measurements differ among phone models, depending upon available enhancements and FCC requirements.) While there may be differences between the SAR levels of various phones and at various positions, they all meet the government requirement. The FCC has granted an Equipment Authorization for this model phone with all reported SAR levels evaluated as in compliance with the FCC RF exposure guidelines. SAR information on this model phone is on file with the FCC and can be found under the Display Grant section of http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid after searching on VR2J88. For body worn operation, this phone has been tested and meets the FCC RF exposure guidelines for use with an accessory that contains no metal and the positions the handset a minimum of 1.5 cm from the body. Use of other enhancements may not ensure compliance with FCC RF exposure guidelines. If you do no t use a body-worn accessory and are not holding the phone at the ear, position the handset a minimum of 1.5 cm from your body when the phone is switched on. - 2 - CONTENTS INTRODUCTION.........................................................................................P.2 PHONE COMPONENTS ............................................................................P.3 INSERTING BATTERY AND USING THE CHARGER.............................P.5 Inserting and Removing the Battery ......................................................P.5 Charging the Battery ................................................................................P.6 Battery Charge Level ................................................................................P.6 BASIC FUNCTIONS ..................................................................................P.7 Turning the Phone On and Off .................................................................P.7 On Screen Icons ........................................................................................P.8 Making a Call .............................................................................................P.8 Receiving Calls ...........................................................................................P.8 MENU TREE ..............................................................................................P.9 EDITING INFORMATION .........................................................................P.10 QUICK FUNCTION GUIDE .....................................................................P.12 SAFETY INFORMATION .........................................................................P.15 - 3 - Congratulations on your purchase of the Reliance cellular phone what has been designed to operate with the latest digital mobile communication technology, Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA). 泰金寶電子(蘇州)有限公司 Cal-Comp Electronics (Su Zhou) Co., Ltd. Tune‐up procedure of J88 During manufacturing each phone will be individually calibrated. The measurement is done in a fully calibrated setup, which is based on Agilent 8960 or RS CMU200 for cdma test, Spirent GSS6100 for GPS test. Furthermore, the measurement is verified afterwards in a call measurement on three channels (low, mid and high) for each band. Procedure: 1. Set the phone to operational voltage and on one certain channel in a special service mode by means of company proprietary software. 2. Adjust the phone(hardware ADC) to send a expected power, then measure the power with Agilent 8960 or RS CMU200, automatic adjustment arithmetic until the target value is met, record the hardware ADC value and actual power to RF table(a special section in NorFlash marked with Read only and untouchable for end user). 3. Repeat step1 and step2 in many discrete channels with each band, and record every suite values to RF table; 4. The appropriate calibration data of each individual phone are stored for the phone using. The user has no possibility to change these settings later on 5. The Maximum and minimum power are measured in a call connected state for each band, to verify the calibration data are right. .
