Introduction This report shows the RF exposure evaluation of the XP Metal Detectors Model ICON28 Metal Detector w ith KDB680106 D01 v04. RF Exposure Limits FCC Requirements The RF exposure limits, as set forth in § 1.1310, do not cover the frequency range below 100 kHz for Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) and below 300 kHz for Maximum Permitted Exposure (MPE). In addition, present limitations of RF exposure evaluation systems prevent an accurate evaluation of SAR below 4 MHz. For these reasons, a specific MPE-based RF Exposure compliance procedure for devices operating in the aforementioned low-frequency ranges has been set in place. This procedure is applicable to Equipment Authorization of all RF devices, thus including, but not limited to, Part 18 and WPT devices. Accordingly, for § 2.1091-Mobile devices, the MPE limits between 100 kHz to 300 kHz are to be considered the same as those at 300 kHz in Table 1 of § 1.1310, that is, 614 V/m and 1.63 A/m, for the electric field and magnetic field, respectively. For § 2.1093-Portable devices below 4 MHz …

All frequency channel selections, power levels, and radio operation parameters are pre-defined in the firmware and are not accessible through any external software or hardware interface. The device has no physical interface (e.g., USB, UART) accessible to the user. Firmware updates can only be performed using a secure, proprietary over-the-air (OTA) update process through the 2.4 GHz radio interface. This update mechanism is cryptographically protected and inaccessible to end users. Radio detection antenna (below 30MHz) - Soldered in the PWB The VLF frequencies are fixed within a regulatory-compliant band and cannot be extended or modified by the end user or installer. Both antennas are fixed and not replaceable by the end user or installer, ensuring compliance with FCC 15.203. The device does not include any external RF power amplifiers and no provision exists for connecting one. It has been tested and certified with the integrated antennas only, in accordance with FCC 15.204. Therefore, the device fully complies with the requirements of FCC Sections 15.203 and 15.204 regarding antenna type and RF power control.
