Makesurethe connectingcableis not damagedby the sharp edgesof wintersportsequipment.If you noticered spotson the connectingcable,this meansthat the protectivecoverhas beendamagedand the unit mustbe repaired(see“Service and repair”).Storethe ABS ® WirelessActivationsystemin a dry placethat is protectedfromextremecoldand heat,and fromdirectsunlight.Keepthe WirelessSctivationout of childrensreach.Youare stronglyrecommendedto havethe systeminspectedregularlyto ensureit is workingcorrectly (see“Regularchecks”). Do not dock the activationhandleto the ABS ® system unless you have attachedafull cartridgefirst. 1.2 Interference Notethat the lockingstrapcontainsamagnet,whichmust not be placedcloseto otherelectronicdevices(avalanche transceiver,compass). Certainavalanchetransceiversuse magneticswitchesthat couldbe disruptedor disabledby magnets,for example: •ARVA:Generation9000to A.dvanced •PiepsDSP •BarryvoxOpto3000 If you are usingan avalanchetransceiverwithamagnetic switch,you are recommendedto wearit on the side opposite to the remoteactivationhandleand to secureit to the bodya sufficientdistanceaway. Avoid keepingelectronicdevices(e.g.mobilephones,radios, headtorches)or metalitems(penknives,magneticbuttons) closeto the handlewhileit is switchedon.Youmust not wear any clothingwith magneticbuttons!
