NATIONAL TECHNICAL SYSTEMS, INC. www.ntscorp.com 5151 47 th Street NE • Calgary, Alberta T2E 3R2 (403)295-5134 • • (403) 295-4190 fax January 04, 2009 American Telecommunications Certification Body, Inc. 6731 Whittier Avenue Suite C110 McLean, VA 22101 FCC ID: XWS-CKD IC ID : 8721A-CKD SAR/RF Exposure: Although SAR/MPE calculations are not required for this device due to the low power output, the following SAR evaluation is included for reference. As per FCC rules no SAR/MPE evaluation is required provided the power is below the following threshold: Tunable range of device: 2402 -2481 MHz Center of tunable band : 2441 MHz SAR Limitation in mW based on center of band = 60/fmhz = 60/2441 = 0.02458 w or 24.58 mW Therefore 24.58 mW is the threshold for no SAR Evaluations. In this case the maximum output powers are as follows: Max Antenna Gain = 0.68 dBi Conducted Power = -0.55 dbm RF Power output of device (Antenna gain + Maximum Conducted RF Power output)= 0.13 dBm RF Power out put in mW = 1 mW S (power density) at 20 cm: 0.000205 mW/cm2 Therefore the maximum output power including antenna gain is 1 mW, well below the SAR evaluation threshold of 24.58 mW.
