Overview The DM300A (IEEE 802.11b/g) module enables connectivity on M2M and embedded devices. The module translates data on an external wired interface (UART, USB, I2C, etc.) to the connected WiFi network. The module is designed for easy hardware and software integration onto a host board. The DM300A has an on-module trace antenna and a connector to attach an external antenna. Antenna diversity is supported via software configuration. Standard WiFi encryption and authentication protocols are supported: WEP, WPA, WPA2, Open, Shared, Pre-Shared Key. WiFi configuration is accomplished through an AT command interface. The module has an ARM9 processor and additional memory capacity to support custom applications. A currently supported application is serial to WiFi conversion with network communication via the Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP). This user guide provides details on establishing and configuring this particular application. 2. Startup and Shutdown Sequences 2.1. Startup Sequence Mount DM300A onto a host board Supply 3.3V to 3.7V to PIN#1 to power on Use UART1 to communicate with DM300A o UART1 settings are 115200bps, 1 stop bit, no parity and no flow control 2.2. Shutdown Sequence Send AT+HALT Disconnect power from DM300A 3. WiFi Setup and Status In the following AT command and response sequences, the client/user input is in regular text and the DM300A response is in italics. 700 Remington Road, 2 nd Floor Schaumburg, IL 60173 [email protected] www.deltamobile.com Phone: 847-884-6750 Printed: 9/29/2010 Confidential & Proprietary Page 4 of 8 3.1.
