Users Manual

In USA - BEST Hartford, Wisconsin In CANADA - BEST Drummondville, QC, Canada REGISTER YOUR PRODUCT ONLINE AT : www.BestRangeHoods.com/register For additional Information visit www.BestRangeHoods.com 2 EN English P1 P2 P3P4 P5 Your Best ACR1 remote control is a Radio Frequency (RF) wireless device used to operate the fan, lights, and delay-off feature on compatible Best range hoods. Refer to your hood installation manual or product specifi cation sheet to ensure your hood is compatible with Best model ACR1 remote control. Unlike Infrared (IR) remotes, which are the most common, RF remotes are easier to use because they do not require line of sight, so they do not need to be aimed directly at the equipment they are controlling. RF is a very conve- nient, reliable method to transmit commands without wi- res for the operation of your compatible range hood. This system will offer exceptional performance in most cases. Although signals will often travel great distances, as well as around and through structures/walls, there are some limitations to the operating range. See troubleshooting guide on page 3 regarding these limitations. CONTROL OPERATION When a button is depressed on the remote control, it sends a coded signal to the receiver installed on a Best compatible hood, telling it which function to activate. P1: Activate/deactivate delay- off (10 minute) P2: Filter change indication timer reset P3: Decreases fan mo- tor speed until turned off (4>3>2>1>OFF) P4: Turns fan motor on and increased speed (OFF>1>2>3>4) P5: Turns lights on/off L1: LED Indicator Ring READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS LINKING PROCEDURE There exists a slight possibility of interference from other RF remote controls (garage door transmitter, home and car security systems, remote control paddle fans, other range hoods installed nearby). If the user experiences interferen- ce, the Best ACR1 remote control must be “re-linked” with the range hood that it intends to operate. To re-link the ACR1 remote control with the hood, turn off the hood fan and lights. Press and hold button P1 on the remote con- trol for 3-seconds (the LED indicator ring will illuminate). Determine the type of control on your hood (below), and press the button as indicated within 3-seconds of initiating the re-linking procedure. Note that in most cases, this will not be necessary. The product is shipped from the factory (transmitter and receiver) already linked. Assuming there are no interference issues, the user won’t need to re-link. P1 P2 P3 P4 P5 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Clean surfaces with a damp, clean cloth and mild detergent only. Do not immerse in water. Your remote is considered to be “splash-proof” not “waterproof”. Your Best remote transmitter is a user friendly device designed for years of trouble free operation. Under most circumstances it should require only periodic battery replacement. The transmitter is powered by a long life A23-style 12V battery available at most hardware stores or home centers. The replacement battery can also be ordered directly from the factory (P/N S97018267). To change the battery, remove the battery cover by removing the battery cover screw. Remove the existing battery and discard properly with consideration to local codes and recycling guidelines. Install the new battery while ensuring the “+” side of the battery lines up with the “+” terminal of the remote. Replace cover and screw. 23 A 3 EN WARNING – TO PREVENT POSSIBLE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH: NEVER ALLOW SMALL CHILDREN NEAR BATTERIES. IF THE BATTERY IS SWALLOWED, IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY A DOCTOR. FCC Compliance Statement This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause ha rmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE Remote transmitting signal (LED ring) but hood not receiving - Ensure hood is powered - Battery is weak - install a fresh A23-12V battery - Remote is not linked to hood – perform linking procedure Transmission range short - Change orientation of remote when activating - Change location of remote to minimize obstructions - Battery is weak - install a fresh A23-12V battery Interference encountered with other RF transmitters or receivers - Re-link remote to hood ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY FOR BEST PRODUCTS Broan-NuTone LLC (Broan-NuTone) warrants to the original consumer purchaser of Best products that such products will be free from defects in materials or workmanship for a period of one year from the date of original purchase.
