Body-worn Operation This device was tested for typical body-worn operations with the back of the phone kept cm (0.9 inches) between the user’s body and the back of the phone. To comply with FCC RF exposure requirements, a minimum separation distance of cm (0.9 inches) must be maintained between the user's body and the back of the phone. Third-party belt-clips, holsters, and similar accessories containing metallic components PD\ not be used. Body-worn accessories that cannot maintain cm (0.9 inches) separation distance between the user's body and the back of the phone, and have not been tested for typical body- worn operations may not comply with FCC RF exposure limits and should be avoided. 20 Please check to see whether any problems you e ncountered with your phone are described in this section before taking the phone in for service or calling a service representative. 1. Phone memory When there is less than 10% of space available in your phone memory, your phone cannot receive new messages. You need to check your phone memory and delete some data, such as applications or messages, to make more memory available. To uninstall applications: 1 Touch > Apps t ab > Settings > Apps from the DEVICE category. 2 Once all applications appear, scroll to and s elect the application you want to uninstall. 3 Touch Uninstall. Getting to know your phone Before you start using the phone, please read this! 21 2. Optimising battery life Extend your battery's life between charges by t urning off features that you don't need to having running constantly in the background. You c an monitor how applications and system resources consume battery power. Extending your phone's battery life: • Turn off radio communications you are not using. If you are not using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or G PS, turn them off. • Reduce screen brightness and set a shorter screen timeout. • Turn off automatic syncing for Google Mail™, Calendar, Contacts and other applications. • Some applications you have downloaded may reduce battery power. To check the battery power level: • Touch > Apps t ab > Settings > About phone f rom the SYSTEM > Status The battery status (charging or not charging) and l evel (percentage charged) is displayed at t he top of the screen. 22 Getting to know your phone To monitor and control how battery power is being used: • Touch > Apps t ab > Settings > Power Saver f rom the DEVICE > Battery use f rom the BATTERY Battery usage time is displayed at the top of the s creen. It tells you how long it has been since you last connected your phone to a power source or, if currently connected, how long the phone was last running on battery power. The screen shows the applications or services using battery power, listed in order from the greatest to smallest amount used. 3. Using folders You c an combine several app icons in a folder. Drop one app icon over another on a H ome screen, and the two icons will be combined. NOTE: To see a smaller collection of frequently used apps, touch the Google Apps folder near the bottom of the screen. As with any folder, you can customize its contents. 23 NOTE: After you open an app, you can usually adjust its settings by choosing items from its Menu icon near the top or bottom of the screen. 4. Before installing an open source application and OS WARNING If you install and use an OS other than the one provided by the manufacturer it may cause your phone to malfunction.
