(Included) To install battery: Remove single screw from battery cover on back of remote and lift cover off. Install / replace battery, then put battery cover back in place and insert / tighten screw. Be careful not to over‐tighten. 1.2) Base (Receiver) ‐ Is operated with four AA batteries. (Not included) To install batteries: Slide battery cover back to remove. Install batteries, being careful to orient the batteries per the directions shown in each position, then slide and snap battery cover back in place. Note that the battery polarity alternates. Note: For maximum performance use high quality batteries. Tip: 1) Be prepared... pack replacement batteries and a screwdriver in your game caller bag. 2) To prolong battery life in cold conditions, hand warmers can be used between the ground and battery compartment to radiate heat to the batteries. 2.0 Caller Operation: 2.1) Power on a) For Base unit, slide On/Off switch to the on position. b) For Remote: the remote is always in “Stand‐by Mode” so there is no on / off button: just press button for desired command. 2.2) Power Off a) For base unit, slide On/Off switch to the off position. b) Remote needs no power down. 2.3) Base unit power modes The base unit has three power modes: a) Active mode: When the unit is playing a sound b) Stop mode: When the unit has been stopped with the stop button or on / off switch, but can return to active mode when user pressed a button. c) Sleep mode: When unit is left on but in‐active for 60 minutes (no button pressed on remote) the base unit goes to sleep mode. The LED flashes on the base unit once every three seconds to indicate sleep mode. User needs to switch the base unit off and back on to restart the unit. 2.4) Selecting sound to be played a) Simply press the numeric key (1 – 10) of the sound that is desired, i.e., if you want to play sound 1, simply press the 1 key. To play sound 10, simply press the 10 key, etc. The red LED on the remote will flash when a button is pressed and a signal is sent. A pre‐printed keypad overlay is installed on your remote listing the 10 sounds that are pre‐loaded. b) If you select a new sound, while a sound is playing, the new sound will replace the current one as the audible sound and the original will stop. 2.5) Stop a sound a) Press the “Stop” button on the remote when you want to stop the audible sound. The audible sound will play in a continuous loop until the stop button is pressed 5 Draft 1.3 2.0 Caller Operation Continued 2.6) Volume Control a) While a sound is playing, press the Volume UP or DN button to increase or decrease the sound level. You can press and release the respective button to adjust the sound level up or down by a single step, or press and hold the respective button for rapid sound level adjustment. The red LED on the remote will flash when a button is depressed and a signal is being sent. Each time the base unit is powered on, the first sound selection will start at volume level 2. Any sound selection after that will start at the last selected volume level. The remote has 20 volume steps: Steps 1‐5 are small volume increments where steps 6‐20 have larger volume increments, with 20 being maximum volume. Note: There is no “MUTE” button, but the unit will be silent when the volume is adjusted all the way down. The sound will still be playing but it will not be audible. 2.7) Internal Memory (128 Mb of Storage Space is in the Base Unit) a) The base unit has 128 Mb of flash drive for sound storage and playback. b) To access the storage space, simply plug the base unit into a computer through the USB port using the USB cord that comes with the unit. 2.8) Storage Space Viewing Sound Files: To view storage space on the unit, simply plug the base unit into a computer through the USB port using the USB cord that comes with the unit. The storage space will show up and can be viewed as a removable storage devise. Example: (E) or (F) depends on your computer system.
