Requirement of FCC KDB99369 – Modular Approval Requirement ComplyY/N 1. The modular transmitter must have its own RF shielding. Y - The EUT provides the RF shielding. See EUT photo. 2. The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs (if such inputs are provided) to ensure that the module will comply with Part 15 requirements under conditions of excessive data rates or over-modulation. Y - The EUT has its buffered modulation. Please see the Schematic Diagram. 3. The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation. Y - The EUT has its own power supply regulation, please see the Schematic Diagram. 4. The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna and transmission system requirements of Sections 15.203, 15.204(b) and 15.204(c). The antenna must either be permanently attached or employ a “unique” antenna coupler (at all connections between the module and the antenna, including the cable). Software Security Description Applicant describe the overall security measures implemented in the device that ensure that the device cannot be modified by any RF-related software changes by third parties to operate outside the authorized RF parameters without further approval from the FCC/ISED The description of the RF-related software must address the following questions in the operational description for the device and clearly demonstrate how the device meets the RF-security requirements. SOFTWARE SECURITY DESCRIPTION Description 1. Describe how any software/firmware updates for elements than can affect the device’s RF parameters will be obtained, downloaded, validated and installed. For software that is accessed through manufacturer’s website or device’s management system, describe the different levels of security as appropriate. Any new software/firmware only can be install by professionals. 2. Describe the RF parameters that are modified by any software/firmware without any hardware changes. Are these parameters in some way limited such that any other software/firmware changes will not allow the device to exceed the authorized RF characteristics? There are no any interfaces inside the software/firmware to modify the radio frequency parameters. 3. Describe in detail the authentication protocols that are in place to ensure that the source of the RF-related software/firmware is valid. Describe in detail how the RF- related software is protected against modification. There is a qualified database for software revision control inside and no interface outside to modify RF character. 4. Describe in detail any encryption methods used to support the use of legitimate RF- related software/firmware. Any software/firmware modification will have the verification procedure and verification results and release letter and impact analysis report based on QMS process. Any modification will be highlighted on the release letter, and the impact analysis will also have a review.
