The VEGA is a state-of-the-art, all-in-one sound system designed to be the performance benchmark for stylish single-box music in the home. VEGA combines fabulous sound quality with immense versatility, intuitive ease of use and a uniquely engaging Danish luxury design. This user manual describes the set up and operation of the DALI VEGA. We recommend you read the manual before you start setting up and using your DALI VEGA. The manual begins with a description of the contents of the VEGA box and continues to cover VEGA positioning, connections, configuration and day-to day use. 1.0 Introduction PLACEHOLDER image DALI VEGA3 DOCUMENTATION The contents of the VEGA box is illustrated below. If any items appear to be missing please contact your VEGA retailer. The VEGA box contents includes a Remote Control and batteries. Insert the batteries in the remote controls as illustrated in Diagram 1. Avoid touching the passive radiator drivers at both ends of the DALI VEGA 2.0 Unpacking 1 x Product Registration Card 1 x Quick Start Guide 1 x DALI VEGA 1 x Remote control 1 x Mains cable DIAGRAM 1 PACK CONTENTS 2 x Wall bracket screws 4 x Wall brackets DALI VEGA4 1 2 L R L R L L R R L L R R The DALI VEGA is designed to offer great versatility so can be installed in a wide variety of locations in the home. It can be placed on a table, furniture unit, shelf, or window ledge for example. And the VEGA can also be wall mounted in either landscape or portrait orientation using the optional DALI VEGA Wall Bracket. The only needs in terms of positioning your VEGA are its access to mains power and, if required, access to a network router or switch for wired network connection. Your DALI retailer will be able to supply a VEGA Wall Bracket if required. If your DALI VEGA is wall mounted it will automatically adapt the stereo routing to its front and rear loudspeakers as appropriate to accommodate landscape or portrait orientation. Its display orientation will also rotate automatically. Diagrams 2 .1 to 2.5 illustrate some DALI VEGA positioning options. 3.0 Positioning Your DALI VEGA DIAGRAM 1.1, 1.2 & 1.3 POSITIONING Table/shelf, near wall: DALI VEGA plays more forwards than backwards. Recommended Rear Wall Distance setting: Medium. Free space, on table: DALI VEGA plays in both directions. Front and back. Recommend Rear Wall Distance setting: Long. 3 Table/shelf, close to corner/wall: DALI VEGA plays even less backwards in this mode. Recommended Rear Wall Distance setting: Short. The front drivers play left channel and rear drivers play right channel, Rear Wall Distance is automatically set. DIAGRAM 2.4 & 2.5 POSITIONINGDIAGRAM 2.6 VEGA WALL BRACKET MOUNTING 3.0 Positioning Your DALI VEGA Portrait Bracket for VEGA, is mounted with one bracket screw (included). Bracket for wall is mounted with two screws, appropriate for the wall type. Landscape DALI VEGA6 4.0 Connecting Your DALI VEGA The DALI VEGA provides a wide variety of connection options for integration into your home audio system. Wired connection sockets are located on the VEGA underside, as illustrated in Diagram 3, and include the following options: Analogue Input: A stereo pair of RCA Phono sockets enable the connection of an external audio source with line-level outputs. This might be a CD player or turntable with built in RIAA for example. Subwoofer Output: A single RCA Phono socket enables the connection of an external subwoofer to enhance the bass performance of your VEGA. The subwoofer output signal is mono. Optical Input: A TOSLINK optical digital audio socket enables the connection of an external audio source with an optical digital output. This might be a TV or CD player for example. HDMI ARC: The HDMI (ARC) socket enables the connection and control integration of a TV equipped with an HDMI (ARC) Audio Return Channel connector. To successfully connect a TV to your DALI VEGA using the HDMI socket the TV must have an HDMI ARC connection. You may also need to select external speakers and enable CEC in the TV settings menu. The TV audio output DIAGRAM 3 WIRED CONNECTIONS HDMI ARC USB Audio / Service Power / Standby LED LAN Power Optical Input Analogue Input Sub Output DALI VEGA7 format should be set to PCM or Stereo. Using HDMI and CEC will enable the TV remote to control VEGA Volume, Mute and Standby functions. If your TV does not support HDMI ARC, we recommend using simultaneous OPTICAL and HDMI connections between the TV and DALI VEGA, with CEC enabled on the TV. This will allow the TV remote to control the DALI audio system. TV manufacturers use a variety of different terms for CEC: Samsung: Anynet+ LG: SimpLink Sony: Bravia Link Phillips: EasyLink Panasonic: VieraLink Hitachi: HDMI-CEC USB Audio / Service: The DALI VEGA USB interface has two functions.
