QUICK START GUIDE LIGHTWAVE AMP LANTERN 2 IMPORTANT Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. BEFORE FIRST USE Before first and every use, charge the unit battery fully following the instructions on “HOW TO CHARGE”. When the lantern is not in use for a long period, the runtime of the light will be shortened due to the self-discharge of the battery. Connect the micro-USB charging cable into the lantern’s charging port at the back of the AMP, and the USB end of the micro-USB charging cable into your home power outlet (DC5V power sources), computer, or other USB power source. 2. Standard charging time from empty is approximately 10 hours. Charging will stop when fully charged. NOTE: The charging time and the operation time may vary depending on the use environment. A. One light on = Low battery > Below 25% battery life A BCDEF OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS LIGHT FUNCTION To turn the AMP ON, press the main button. Adjust the light mode (High / Low / Red / BLUETOOTH Pairing / Off) by pressing the main button repeatedly. To turn the lantern OFF, press the main button once after BLUETOOTH pairing mode. BLUETOOTH OPERATION WITH LIGHT AND AUDIO FUNCTION The Brunton LIGHTWAVE AMP is controlled by Brunton’s B-SYNC App. Available for smartphones or tablets running iOS or Android operating systems via free download. 4 1. On your BLUETOOTH device (Smartphone or tablet), turn on BLUETOOTH. 2. Turn on BLUETOOTH pairing by pressing the main lantern button 4 times (High, Low, Red, then BLUETOOTH Pairing). The status indicator will turn BLUE and lantern will make a sound indicating it is in BLUETOOTH pairing mode and is ready for pairing. 3. The device code of this lantern “BRUNTON AMP” will appear on the device list of your smartphone or tablet. Select the lantern. The BLUETOOTH status will show on your BLUETOOTH menu after pairing is established. The lantern speaker is ready to play music. 4. Open B-SYNC App, select the menu (top left), select BLUETOOTH Connection. It will automatically search for LIGHTWAVE AMP. Press LIGHTWAVE AMP from selection list and operate according to B-SYNC App instructions. 5. Alternatively, play music from native player or streaming music service. Adjust volume using controls on your BLUETOOTH smartphone or tablet. 2 3 > > 1 PAIRED ON BRUNTON AMP Bluetooth Conn 4x If the BLUETOOTH turns off after five minutes without playing audio, it has entered power saving mode. Turn lantern off and press main button 4 more times for BLUETOOTH, and try pairing your device again following steps 2-4. The lantern speaker operates with a single pair devices mode. If you pair the speaker with another device, the device least recently connected needs to be un-paired with the speaker first. Repeat steps above. POWER BANK FUNCTION 1. Select the suitable USB charging cable (different devices require different charging cables for charging). Cable(s) not included. 2. Plug the USB cable into either lantern USB output port, then plug the other side of the cable into the charging device (phone, tablet, etc.) The device will then start charging. 3. When the lantern battery is discharged, it will stop charging device. Discharging the battery will also disable light functionality until lantern battery is recharged. INPUT OUTPUTOUTPUT 5 TROUBLE SHOOTING The BLUETOOTH function doesn’t work or it won’t pair: • Try moving your device closer. • Is the lantern turned on and charged? • Is BLUETOOTH enabled on your device or computer? • Turn the BLUETOOTH off and then on to wake it. • Try repeating the setup procedure in this guide or pair with a different BLUETOOTH device. • The speaker plays music from one device at a time.
