IQbuds 2 Max: SKU Model: NU318 True wireless active noise cancelling earphones Safety and Handling Information Important Safety Instructions ➢ Read this instruction manual before using your IQbuds 2 Max wireless earbuds (the product). ➢ Only use the earbuds in environments where Bluetooth wireless transmission is permitted. Recommended Use and Storage ➢ The Nuheara IQbuds 2 Max, are true wireless (Active hybrid noise cancelling) Bluetooth earbuds intended to be used for wirelessly listening to music or making phone calls as well as listening to the world around you using hearing compensation and noise filter algorithms. ➢ Bud operating temperature range: -10 ̊C to 55 ̊C while in ear use. ➢ The Case temperature range is +10 ̊C to 45 ̊C when USB Case charging active. ➢ The Case temperature range is 0 ̊C to 45 ̊C when un-plugged and bud charging active. ➢ Recommended storage conditions: Temperature 20 ̊C to 30 ̊C, humidity less than 93%. Hearing Safety ➢ Protect your hearing from high volume levels. Hearing damage can occur when headphones and earbuds are used at high volume for prolonged periods of time. The sound quality of Nuheara products is good at low and medium volume levels. Nuheara IQbuds 2 Max are compliant to EN50332-1 sound pressure levels. ➢ IQbuds 2 Max are not hearing aids and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or alter the structure or function of the body. IQbuds 2 Max will not restore normal hearing and will not prevent or improve a hearing impairment resulting from organic conditions. IQbuds 2 Max are intended to amplify environmental sound for non-hearing-impaired consumers. They are not intended to compensate for hearing impairment or to address listening situations that are typically associated with and indicative of hearing loss. Batteries ➢ Nuheara IQbuds 2 Max and the Charge Case include rechargeable lithium ion batteries. Do not attempt to replace the IQbuds 2 Max bud batteries or the charger accompanying battery yourself. You could damage the battery which could cause overheating, fire or injury. Batteries in this product are only serviceable by Nuheara or an authorised service agent and should be returned to Nuheara for service or replacement. ➢ IQbuds 2 Max buds or Charge Case should not be recharged in temperatures exceeding 45 ̊C, or when conditions are expected to exceed these temperatures. Doing so could result in overheating, fire or injury. Charge Case Rated Voltage ➢ The rated voltage range is 4.40V to 5.25V (>1.1A Ideally) (As per the USB2.0 standard) ➢ Ensure that the AC plug pack to USB2.0 charger (not provided) meets the requirements the requirements of IEC/EN60950-1 or IEC 62368-1 (from Dec 2020) and has been tested and approved according to national and local standards. Safety instructions for Lithium rechargeable batteries WARNING ➢ If abused or misused, the rechargeable batteries may leak, in extreme cases they may even present a risk of explosion, fire development, heat generation, smoke or gas development. ➢ At end of life, dispose of IQbuds 2 Max at a battery / electronic waste collection centre. Preventing accidents and damage to health ➢ Keep the product, accessories and packaging out of the reach of children and pets to prevent accidents such as chocking or swallowing. ➢ Do not use the product in environments that require special attention for example when driving or performing skilled or dangerous jobs. ➢ This product generates magnetic fields that could cause interference with cardiac pacemakers, implanted defibrillators (ICD’s) and other implants. Always maintain at least 10- cm (3.94”) between the earbuds and / or charge case and the implanted device. ➢ Earphones can lead to ear infections is not properly cleaned. Clean Nuheara IQbuds 2 Max buds and silicone ear tips regularly. If skin problems develop, discontinue use and consult with a doctor. ➢ Ear tips are designed to sit comfortably in your ear and should not be forced into your ear at any time. If you have trouble fitting the silicone ear tips or memory foam tips, please contact Nuheara support. Preventing damage and malfunctions to the product ➢ For safe operation do not submerse the product in liquid. Liquids entering the housing of the product can cause a short-circuit and damage the electronics. ➢ Avoid exposure to extreme temperature (hairdryer, heater, extended exposure to sunlight etc) ➢ Only clean the product with a soft dry cloth. ➢ Clean the charging contacts on the earbuds and the charge case from time to time using a soft cloth or cotton swab. Information on Disposal of Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) ➢ Disposal of your device and its batteries is subject to WEEE Directive Recast (Directive 2012/19/EU) and Battery Directive (Directive 2006/66/EC). ➢ Used electrical and electronic equipment should not be mixed with general household waste. For proper treatment, recovery and recycling, please take this product to designated collection points where it will be accepted free of charge. ➢ Alternatively, in some countries you may be able to return your products to your local retailer upon purchase of an equivalent new product. ➢ Disposing of this product correctly will help to save valuable resources and prevent any potential negative effects on human health and the environment, which could otherwise arise from inappropriate waste handling. ➢ Please contact your local authority for further details of your nearest designated collection point. ➢ Penalties may be applicable for incorrect disposal of this waste, in accordance with your national legislation. IN THE BOX: QUICK START GUIDE USB CHARGE CABLE CHARGE CASEIQBUDS 2 EAR TIP TRAYCARRY BAG CHARGING YOUR IQBUDS AND CASE FRONT LIGHTS (IQBUDS CHARGE) What Do These Lights Mean? Battery Life Front Lights (IQbuds Charge) IQbuds2 Battery Life Side Light (Case Charge) (Plugged in with USB cable) Side Light (Case Charge) IQbuds are Charged Your case carries and charges your IQbuds. Your case provides you with the convenience of charging your IQbuds when you are out and about. You can charge your case via the USB cable connected to a USB power source (Wall charger, computer, etc.) The case has lights that indicate different states, please see below: Up to 5 Hours Of streaming media Up to 8 Hours Of hearing features *Battery life may be less if using hearing features and streaming media simultaneously. (Music, Video, IQstreamTV)(World volume, Ear ID, etc.) Case is ChargedYour case holds more than 1 full charge for your IQbuds IQbuds are ChargingCase is ChargingYour case holds less than 1 full charge for your IQbuds SIDE LIGHT (CASE CHARGE) *Please note that the lights will turn on when the case is opened or closed. The lights will then turn off after a few seconds for battery efficiency. *Your IQbuds will need to be in the case for the front lights to activate. FITTING YOUR IQBUDS INSERTING IQBUDS FIT LIKE AN EARPLUG EXPERIMENT WITH TIPS Check the IQbuds for left and right markings to make sure you put the correct bud in the correct ear. Make sure the tip is at the bottom before inserting. For high quality bass and noise reduction IQbuds need to form an airtight seal. Push the buds into your ears as you would an earplug. Pick the largest size ear tip that fits in your ear comfortably and forms the best seal. The tips should pull off the IQbuds fairly easily, hold the silicone or foam and pull to remove. Set up instructions in the app: IQbuds Set up instructions in the app: IQbuds Set up instructions in the app: IQbuds Set up instructions in the app: IQbuds APP SETUP + PAIRING PAIRING To activate pairing mode, hold both tap sensors for about 5 seconds, Wait until you hear “Pairing”. This will allow your phone to discover your IQbuds in bluetooth settings and in the app. All set up instructions will be in the app to guide you. Download the IQbuds app to begin the set up process. IQbuds Nuheara TAP TOUCH These highlighted green surfaces are the tap sensors. You can control different features with tap gestures. BLUETOOTH iOS (Apple) Please go to bluetooth settings and make sure bluetooth is on. Find the name that matches on the left (XXX represents a unique code). Once IQbuds are connected, return to the app to continue the process. When back in the app, you will be shown the bluetooth pairing pop up message, tap “Pair”. After the pairing screen you will be presented with different options based on what software version your phone is running. iPhones with iOS 13 and above will allow you to pair in the app. You will be shown a pop up message asking you to pair, like this: If your iPhone is on a software version lower than iOS 13, you will be asked to leave the app, go to bluetooth settings and connect to your IQbuds there, see below: Tap “Pair” and you will be able to proceed through the app to complete the process. *IQbuds2MAX_XXX All IQbuds have a unique 3 letter/number code If you are unsure of your phone software version, please go to: Settings > General > About > There will be an item called “Software Version” and the version number is displayed next to it. Make sure Bluetooth is on Tap this to connect IQbuds2MAX_XXX Make sure Bluetooth is on Tap this to connect IQbudsMAX2_XXX Android You will be shown a connected screen and be able to proceed through the app. After the pairing screen you will be presented with a pop up message asking you to connect, like this: If you have not activated pairing properly you may be taken back to the pairing screen, in which case try the pairing action again and wait until you hear “Pairing”. You will then be presented with the screen below: Please go to bluetooth settings and make sure bluetooth is on. Find the name that matches on the left (XXX represents a unique code). Once IQbuds are connected, return to the app to complete the process. *IQbuds2MAX_XXX All IQbuds have a unique three letter/number code Tap “Connect” and you will be able to proceed through the app to complete the process. TAP TOUCH CONTROLS Please note the below are default settings.
