Model: WT-868 Wireless & Wired Timer Remote Control Product User Manual Thank you for purchasing JJC WT-868 Wireless & Wired Timer Remote Control. For the best performance, please read this instruction carefully before using. You must read it thoroughly and fully understand this manual to avoid improper operation which may result in damage to the product. JJC WT-868 Wireless & Wired Timer Remote is excellent for flower blooming, sunset, moonrise, etc. photography. The remote is equipped to handle a long list of timer functions: self-timer, long exposure timer, interval timer, controlling the number of shots as well as multi-exposure timer. An exposure as long as 99 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds can be programmed and number of exposures is up to 999 or unlimited. The transmitter works at a distance up to 100m (328 feet) on any one of 56 channels over a reliable 2.4GHz frequency. WT-868 not only can be used wirelessly, but also can be used as a wired remote. The remote has a wide range of compatibility. Just change the connecting cables (sold separately), and it will work with most cameras with a remote socket. All the features of WT-868 remote make it a good helper for you to take creative pictures. Slide open the battery covers of transmitter and receiver respectively in the direction of the red arrow shown in the following pictures. 2. Install two AAA batteries into the battery compartment of transmitter, and one CR2 battery into compartment of the receiver, following the”＋” and “－” marks as shown in the picture below. Do not install batteries in the reverse direction as this could cause the batteries to leak corrosive liquids, generate heat or explode. 3. Make sure batteries are fully in place and slide back the battery covers of the transmitter and the receiver respectively. Mastering Functions and Usage of the Controls Receiver ⚫ ON/OFF Switch Move the button to “ON”, and the receiver will be turned on; move it to “OFF”, and the receiver will be turned off. ⚫ Channel (CH) ＋/－ Press Channel (CH) ＋/－buttons to adjust channels. Transmitter ⚫ ON/OFF Switch Move the button to “ON”, and the transmitter will be turned on; move it to “OFF”, and the transmitter will be turned off. ⚫ Five Icons Above the LCD Screen of Transmitter There are five icons, namely “DE”, “BU”, “INT”, “N” and above the LCD screen of transmitter. The following chart has illustrated their functions. Icon Function Description Settings Supported DE Delay/Self Timer Just like the self timer on your camera, WT-868 transmitter allows you to set any delay (in 1 second increments) up to 99 hours, 99 minutes and 99 seconds. 0s to 99hrs 59min 59s BU BULB/Long Exposure It allows you to take exposures up to 99 hours, 99 minutes and 99 seconds in length. 0s to 99hrs 59min 59s INT Interval Timer The interval timer can be set to any time period up to 99 hours, 99 minutes and 99 seconds as well. For example, If you set it to 10 minutes, one exposure will be taken every 10 minutes until the Exposure Count limit has been reached. 1s to 99hrs 59min 59s N Number of Shots This setting permits you to set the number of exposures up to 999 shots. 1 shot to 999 shots or unlimited Speaker Speaker ON/OFF ON/OFF ⚫ Shutter Release Button (HOLD) Press the button halfway to focus, and the rest of the way down to take a picture. ⚫ LED Light/Lock Button Press the button momentarily to turn on or turn off the backlight. Press and hold the button for about 2 seconds to lock or release the following buttons: Start/Stop Button, Arrow Button and SET Button. ⚫ “START/STOP” Button Press this button to start or stop the timer. ⚫ Arrow Buttons and SET Button Use arrow buttons to set the timer. Press ◄ or ► to select an item, ▲ or ▼ to adjust an item. The current selection is indicated by the selection cursor. At any time, press the SET button to begin editing or save the current setting. Then press ◄ or ► to view other settings. The selection cursor will move and indicate the current setting. Using the Arrow Buttons and SET button to adjust “DE”, “BU”, “INT”, “N” and : 1. (DE) Delay/Self Timer (Time until shooting starts) Hours Minutes Seconds 2. (BU) BULB/Long Exposure (Exposure Time) Hours Minutes Seconds 3. (INT) Interval Timer Hours Minutes Seconds 4. (N) Number of Shots 5. Speaker ON OFF NOTE: The remote defaults: Interval Time (INT) = Exposure Time (BU) + Time from the moment this shot ends to the moment next shot starts. So when taking long exposure pictures, to make the camera have enough time to focus, interval time (INT) should be at least 2 seconds longer than exposure time (BU). When using autofocus function, make sure delay/self timer is 2 seconds or longer to leave the camera enough time to focus.
