The product offerings include two bait stations (Pulse Rat iQ TOTAL V2 and Pulse Mouse iQ TOTAL V2) and trap-style stations (24/7 iQ TOTAL V2). The devices uses a capacitive touch pad connected to capacitive touch sensor IC configured with customized filtering to provide information to the controller, which in turn uses a proprietary filtering algorithm to isolate events and detections. This information is passed to a mobile phone app, via Bluetooth, which will upload the information to a cloud server. The device is also equipped with LoRaWAN capabilities to provide direct device-to-cloud connection through a configurable heartbeat interval. PRODUCT INSTALLATION All Bell iQ Total Solutions products include a radio board installed in a plastic housing that is sonically welded to protect against installation environments and rodent exposure. An ER14505H battery must be connected to the radio board before the unit is installed in the plastic housing. PRODUCT OPERATION Once powered, the device will advertise for 30 seconds before going to sleep. Tapping the sensor pad a few times will wake the device up and it will again advertise for 30 seconds before going back to sleep. This operation will happen for device that are unregistered (Factory Mode). For devices that are registered and installed in the field, the device will continually advertise every 1.5 seconds. DATA AND DEVICES / ANT-915-VHETH The ANT-915-VHETH antenna is a compact surface mount helical antenna for low-power, wide-area (LPWA) applications including LoRaWAN®, remote controls, and ISM band applications in the 902 MHz to 930 MHz range. The ANT-915-VHETH antenna is made from 0.6 mm diameter nickel plated high-carbon steel for use in PCB-mount installations requiring a rugged, compact and omnidirectional embedded antenna. ANT-915-VHETH Antenna Dimensions PRODUCT DIMENSIONS Figure 1 provides dimensions for the ANT-915-VHETH antenna. DATA AND DEVICES / ANT-915-VHETH3 VSWR RETURN LOSS Figure 2 provides the voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) across the antenna bandwidth. VSWR describes the power reflected from the antenna back to the radio. A lower VSWR value indicates better antenna performance at a given frequency. Reflected power is also shown on the right-side vertical axis as a gauge of the percentage of transmitter power reflected back from the antenna. Return loss (Figure 3), represents the loss in power at the antenna due to reflected signals. Like VSWR, a lower return loss value indicates better antenna performance at a given frequency. Figure 3. Peak gain represents the maximum antenna input power concentration across 3-dimensional space, and therefore peak performance at a given frequency, but does not consider any directionality in the gain pattern. ANT-915-VHETH Antenna Radiation Patterns RADIATION PATTERNS Radiation patterns provide information about the directionality and 3-dimensional gain performance of the antenna by plotting gain at specific frequencies in three orthogonal planes. Antenna radiation patterns are shown in Figure 7 using polar plots covering 360 degrees. The antenna graphic at the top of the page provides reference to the plane of the column of plots below it. Note: when viewed with typical PDF viewing software, zooming into radiation patterns is possible to reveal fine detail. The size and location of the ground plane relative to the antenna will affect the overall performance of the antenna in the final design. When used in conjunction with a ground plane smaller than that used to tune the antenna, the center frequency typically will shift higher in frequency and the bandwidth will decrease.
