This Appliance c an be used by children ag ed fr om 8 years and above and persons with reduc ed physical, sensory or mental c apabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if the y hav e been given s upe rvis ion or instructio n c oncerning use of the Appl ianc e in a s afe way and understand the haz ards inv olv ed. C hil dren s hall not play w ith the Appliance. Cleaning and user main tenan ce sha ll not be mad e b y chi ldren without s upe rvis ion. 2. Cle ar the area t o be cleaned. Remo ve power cords and small objects from the floor tha t c ould e ntangle the Appl ianc e. T o tuck fring e under the rug base, and lift it ems s uch as curtains and t ablecloths off the floor . 3. If there is a drop off in the cleaning area due t o a s tep or stair s,you should operate the Appl ianc e to ensure tha t it c an detect the step witho ut falling over the edge. It ma y bec ome necessar y t o place a physical b arrier at the edge t o k eep the unit from f alling. Make sure the phys ical b arri er is no t a tr ip h azard. 4. Only use as described in this manual. Only use attachments r ecommended or sold by the manufactur er. 5. Ple ase make sure your po wer suppl y v olt age matches the po wer v olt age marked o n the Char ging Dock. 6. For INDOOR household use ONLY. Do not use the Appliance in outdoor , c ommercial or industrial envir onme nts. 7. Do no t use witho ut dust bin and/or fil ters in place. 8. Do no t o perate the Appl ianc e in an area w here the re ar e lit c andles or fr agile obje cts . 9. Do not use in extremely hot or c old environments (below-5 ̊C/23 ̊F or above 40 ̊C/104 ̊ F). 10. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all part s of body away fr om any openings and moving parts. 11. Do no t o perate the Appl ianc e in a r oom wher e a n in fant or child is sleeping. 12. Do no t use Applianc e on w et s urfaces or surfaces with standing water. 13. Do not allo w the Appliance t o pick up large objects like s tones, la rge pieces of paper or any item that may clog the Appl ian ce. 14. Do not use Appliance t o pick up flammable or combustible materials such as gasoline, print er or copier toner, or use in areas wher e the y ma y be presen t. 15. Do not use Appliance t o pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, hot as hes, or anything tha t could cause a fir e. 16. Do not put objects into the suction intake. Do not use if the suction intake is blocked. K eep the int ake cle ar of dus t, l int , hai r, or anythi ng that m ay r educ e air flow. 2 17. Take ca re no t t o d amage t he power c ord. Do not pull on or carry the Appliance or Char ging Dock by the power c ord, use the power c ord as a handle, close a door on the power cord, or pull power cord ar ound s harp edges or corners. Do not r un Applianc e over the power cord. K eep power c ord away fr om ho t s urfaces. 18. If the po wer cord is damaged, it must be replaced b y the manufactur er or it s ser vic e agent in order to av oid a hazard. 19. Do no t use the Char ging Dock if it is damaged. 20. Do no t use with a damaged po wer cord or receptacle. Do no t use the Appl ianc e or Char ging Dock if it is not w orking properly, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoor s, or c ome in cont act with wate r. It must be r epair ed by the manufactur er or its ser vice agent in order to av oid a hazard. 21. T urn OFF the p ower swi tch be fore cle ani ng or maintaining the Appliance. 22. The plug must be r emoved fr om the receptacle before cle aning or maintaining the C har ging Dock. 23. Remove the Appl ianc e fr om the Char ging Dock, and turn OFF the power swi tch t o the Applianc e be fore removing the battery for disposal of t he Ap plia nce. 24. The battery must be r emo ved and discarded according to loc al laws and regula tions before dis posa l of the Applianc e. 25. Please dispose of used batteri es according to loc al laws and reg ulations. 26. Do no t inc ine rate the Appl ianc e even if it is severely damaged. The bat teri es can e xplod e in a fir e. 27.
