Luteinizing hormone is a type of gonadotropins, LH for short and also known as interstitial cell-stimu- lating hormone (LCSH). It is produced by the basophils in the anterior pituitary, and interacts with mature follicles, leading to ovulation and producing corpus luteum. It is a key hormone that accelerates egg release and corpus luteum formation. Ovulation is only initiated when its secretion is normal and reaches a certain amount. Average women of childbearing age ovulate once a month. Ovulation normally happens between 12 to 16 days before next menstruation. The egg released can only survive for 12 to 30 hours. Sperms can be alive in genital meatus for 2 to 3 days. There are only a couple of hours that are crucial for conception. Therefore, accurate forecasts of ovulation are essential to guide women who are trying to conceive in choosing the best time for intercourse for higher conception probability. They are also significant to guide women who are on birth control to avoid intercourse during ovulation. The test strip in the bag should be used immediately after unpacking to avoid failure caused by dampness. Stop drinking water 2 hours before collecting the urine sample to prevent it from being diluted. There is a desiccant in the aluminum foil bag. Do not eat it. Product expired may not be used. The urine cup can be reused. Test strips are disposable and cannot be reused. Please discard the test strips in a non-recyclable bin after use. This product is for in vitro diagnostic use only. This product is an auxiliary diagnostic device only. It cannot determine the actual amount of LH in a urine sample. The test results cannot serve as a basis for diagnosis. The test result will be displayed through the LED light. Once the test is completed, the icon will be displayed for 30 seconds before it goes out. If you want to check the result again, simply pull out the test strip, or try to put the lid of Femometer IVY back on and pull it out again. The result from your latest test will be shown. Warning 3 Step 1: Remove the battery cover. Install the button cell in the direction as indicated. When you hear a beep, it indicates that the battery has been inserted successfully. Put the battery cover back in place. 3 How to use Step 3: Remove the lid of the main body. When you hear a beep, it indicates that Femometer IVY is on. Insert the test strip into the main body in the direction as indicated. (Please make sure that the test strip is inserted all the way to the bottom and the whole arrow has disappeared.) When the light starts to flash, it means the device is ready for the test. Step 2: Collect your urine in the cup included in the package. Dip the top of the test strip into the urine and hold it until you hear a "beep" (at the same time, the status light starts fast flashing). Then pull it out and put the test strip lid back on. Step 5: Place the product on a flat surface. The LED light will be flashing during the testing. Wait for about 6-10 minutes till you hear three beeps which indicate that the test is completed. The test result will be displayed via the LED light.
