1/6 ISGUS Mifare Reader Integration Instructions ISGUS Mifare Reader Integration Instructions 2/6 Purpose This document describes the measures required to integrate the ISGUS Mifare Reader into an ISGUS terminal and which regulations must be observed and fulfilled in order to introduce the terminal in the USA and Canada. Product description The ISGUS Mifare Reader is a RFID identification system in form of a pluggable module. The module consists of the OEM radio module PRIMO340 (manufactured by phg) and a PRIMO340 adapter with integrated loop antenna and antenna tuning network. ISGUS Mifare Reader Integration Instructions OEM radio module PRIMO340 PRIMO340 adapter Loop antenna 10-pole and 4-pole pin contact strips, 12 mm ISGUS Mifare Reader 3/6 Intended use The reader is intended exclusively as a reading module for ISGUS time recording and access control terminals (host devices). Other areas of application deviating from this are considered contrary to the designated use. Regulations The ISGUS Mifare Reader has been tested according to FCC and Industry Canada (IC) regulations for module approvals. FCC ID: 2AVK6-MR527E01 IC: 25797-MR527E01 PMN: ISGUS Mifare Reader HVIN: MR527E01 FVIN: 68075J Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer could void the user's authority to operate this equipment. User manual warnings and statements Provisions, instructions and warnings that must be included in the User Manual of the host device. FCC: This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Caution: Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate this equipment. Canadian Radio Certification: This device contains licence-exempt transmitter(s)/receiver(s) that comply with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s licence-exempt RSS(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1. This device may not cause interference. 2. In CFR47 §15.212 “Modular Transmitters” and KDB 996369 D01 “Module Equip Auth Guide” there are following eight numbered requirements defined: 1. The radio elements must have the radio frequency circuitry shielded. Physical components and tuning capacitor(s) may be located external to the shield but must be on the module assembly. Response: Fulfilled – please refer to the external photo exhibit. 2. The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs (if such inputs are provided) to ensure that the module will comply with part 15 requirements under conditions of excessive data rates or over-modulation. Response: Fulfilled – please refer Block Diagram, Schematic and Operational Description. 3. The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation on the module. Response: Fulfilled – please refer to the Block Diagram, Schematic and Operational Description. 4. The module must contain a permanently attached antenna, or contain a unique antenna connector, and be marketed and operated only with specific antenna(s), per §§ 15.203, 15.204(b), 15.204(c), 15.212(a), 2.929(b). Response: Fulfilled – please refer to photo exhibit showing the permanently attached loop antenna. 5. The module must demonstrate compliance in a stand-alone configuration. Response: Fulfilled – please refer to the test report and test setup photos. 6. The modular transmitter must be equipped with either a permanently affixed label or must be capable of electronically displaying its FCC identification number (KDB 784748). Response: Fulfilled – please refer to the label location and integration manual exhibit. 7. The modular transmitter must comply with any specific rule or operating requirements applicable to the transmitter and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions along with the module to explain any such requirements. Response: Fulfilled – please refer to the test report and integration manual exhibit. 8. The modular transmitter must comply with any applicable RF exposure requirements in its final configuration. Response: Fulfilled as devices subject to §15.225 are categorically excluded from this requirement. Although the requirements are fulfilled, the Grantee hereby declares that this modular transmitter will be exclusively integrated by the Grantee himself into his own products and is not intended for sale to third parties.
