EN FR ES IT Owner’s manual Manuel d’utilisation Instrucciones Istruzioni d’uso 000121300000 2 English Français Español Italiano pag.3 pag.3 pag.3 pag.3 EN FR ES IT 3 ENGLISH Owner’s manual 4 About the product PADDY ALERT Keyring is an accessory device operating with the PADDY Smart Pad phone APP: it works as a reminder in case the driver leaves both the mobile phone and the child in the vehicle. In such case the device will activate a sound and visual alarm. If the baby is not removed from the seat within 30 seconds, and the alert silenced, the mobile APP will send a message including the GPS co-ordinates of the place where the alarm was generated to the predefined associated users. The keyring device must be paired with the APP and can handle up to four seat pads simultaneously. Box content • 1 x PADDY ALERT alarm device • 1 x Key Ring and string • 1 x Owner’s Manual How to use PADDY ALERT When connected to the APP, PADDY ALERT will work as a secondary alarm. If connected directly with the PADDY Smart Pad it will function as primary alarm. 1” EN FR ES IT 5 USING THE DEVICE WITH THE APP PADDY ALERT needs to be activated only the first time by pressing down the switch for 1 second. The actual connection will be confirmed by a red LED flashing once. However, if the battery is charged 20% or less, the red LED will flash continuously, along with an alarm tone, warning that the battery needs to be replaced. To pair the device with the APP, press the icon on the screen and then the connect bar, as shown below. The device will automatically pair with the App and when the device is paired, the photo of the device will switch from black and white to full color. 6 Once paired, press the BACK bar to return to the main APP screen. A new battery charge level indicator will appear above the PADDY logo as shown below. This confirms that the Alert device is now operational. The device is now paired and shall connect to the APP automatically. It will set off an alarm only in case the user has left the mobile phone and an unattended child in the vehicle. EN FR ES IT 7 In case the driver steps away from the vehicle and the mobile phone has been left in the car, along with an unattended child in the car seat, after a distance of approximately 10-15 meters the device will switch to the “alarm mode”, activating a sound alarm and the LED shall flash continuously. The device shall remain in such mode until the alarm is deactivated and the child removed from the seat. If the alarm is not deactivated by pressing the button on the device or by removing the child from the car seat within 30 seconds, the APP will send a message to all the predefined associated users such as: “(NAME OF THE CHILD) HAS BEEN ABANDONED AT GPS 22.3213N 113.9433E)”. The associated users can access the map on the phone and view the exact location where the child was left unattended. Then they can contact the other users and proceed to rescue the unattended child. If the driver presses the PADDY ALERT button for at least one second, the LED will flash from 1 to 4 times and will also show the battery charge. If it only flashes once, then the battery needs to be replaced. 8 USING THE DEVICE WITHOUT THE APP PADDY ALERT can be used with PADDY Smart Pad as an alarm that shall go off when the user moves away from the vehicle and the child has been left unattended in the car seat. The alarm will be both audio and visual and shall remain active until the child is removed from the PADDY Smart Pad. The device must be paired with the PADDY Smart Pad. Press the button for 1 second to turn on the device: a beep will confirm the device is ON. Press the button again for 6 seconds to turn on the pairing mode (only the first time). Press the center of the PADDY Smart Pad until a beep sound is heard: the device is now connected to the Smart Pad. The LED flashes every 8/10 seconds if the battery of the Smart Pad is charged; otherwise the LED will flash continuously. • If the connection with one or more Pads is lost, the device will go into the alarm mode. • To stop the alarm mode, press the button for 1 second. • To cancel the present operating connection press down the button for 6 seconds with the power ON. • To erase all paired PADDY Smart Pad connections, hold down the button for 15 seconds: a confirmation beep will be heard. • If PADDY ALERT is connected the first time with the APP it will act as a secondary alarm, otherwise it will function as primary alarm. EN FR ES IT 9 WARRANTY PADDY ALERT enjoys a Limited Life Warranty against any defects of non-compliance under normal operating conditions of use. Please refer to the Warranty notice enclosed to this Owner’s Manual. Note: the battery is not included in the warranty as it is a consumable item and must be replaced as needed. When no other RF exposure testing or reporting is required, a statement of justification and compliance must be included in the equipment approval, in lieu of the SAR report, to qualify for the SAR test exclusion.
