PADDY is a device that alerts via APP if the child has been abandoned in the vehicle. The APP warns by means of an acoustic signal, by flashing the LED of the photo camera and by vibrating the phone. This alarm remains active until the child is removed from the seat. If this alarm is not deactivated within 30 seconds, the system sends a message indicating the GPS geographical coordinates of the place where the alarm was generated to other two predefined telephone numbers, such as: parents, grandparents or friends. Box content: • 1x PADDY Smart Pad • 1x Owner’s Manual TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS •Compatible with Android OS 6.0 or higher •Compatible with IOS 10.0 or higher •Communication: Bluetooth LOW ENERGY •Long-lasting interchangeable battery: 3v CR2450 •Operating temperature range: from -20°C to + 70°C [ from -4°F to 158°F ] Setting-up the APP Remove the Smart PADDY pad from the box and place it on the base of the car child seat. Insert the seat belt buckle through the slot of the PADDY cushion. Make sure that the PADDY logo is facing upwards, as in figure 1. Product registration Download the PADDY Smart Pad APP available in the Android and IOS stores. The APP may also be downloaded by scanning the QR code here beside. 5 FR ES IT EN When the APP is launched, a menu like the one here below opens. Note: on certain Android phones you might be requested to activate the AutoStart and View permissions on the lock screen. Insert the child’s name. Then press on the icon to load the picture of your child. It is possible to take a picture or download it from the phone’s albums. The child’s name and picture will appear as follows. In order to register the child, press the icon as shown below. The APP allows to register and monitor up to 4 children. 6 To connect the APP to the PADDY Smart Pad press on the PADDY logo on the pad, as shown below, until you hear the sound signal. A new sound signal will confirm the connection between the Pad and the APP. Next to the picture of the child the battery’s charge level of the Pad will appear. The battery charge indicator changes color when the charge drops, turning red when the battery level is very low. Whenever the buzzer sounds 4 times in a row, the battery must be replaced: a notification will also be sent to the phone if the screen is off. To complete the installation of the APP, press the settings icon in the upper right corner where you can activate the vibration, the intermittent flash and select the alarm ringtone. After the sound signal, keep pressing on the pad. Hit the “connect” bar, as shown below. At this point the pad will connect with the APP. BEEP 7 FR ES IT EN Adding other users Once the Smart Pad is connected to the APP, a secondary user can be added. Such user will have to press on CONNECT on his phone as shown below. In the secondary user APP, press on the “SHOW MY QR CODE” bar to display the unique QR code of the device. On the primary user’s phone, press on the “SCAN USER’S QR CODE” bar: at this point the secondary user APP is associated with the main user APP allowing the associated user to receive an alarm notification with the GPS coordinates in case the child has been left unattended in the car. Repeat the same procedure in order to associate the third user. 2 22 1 1 2 1 2 8 Using the product The main screen shows the status of the smart pad. If the child is not on the pad, the child’s image is black and white. When the child is on the pad, the image of the child is colored. Child on padChild not on pad The PADDY smart pad connects to the APP and monitors the presence of the child. When the child is picked up from the car seat, the smart pad turns off, while turning on again when the child is placed back in the car seat. If the smart pad does not connect with the APP, it will beep 3 times every 10 seconds for 2 minutes, and then every 60 seconds. Example of the map visualizing where the child has been left unattended In case the driver walks away from the vehicle and the child has been left in the car child seat, after a distance of approximately 10-15 meters, the driver will receive a message on his phone, such as: “ATTENTION! (BABY’S NAME) HAS BEEN ABANDONED”. At the same time the phone will send a sound (beep) and visual (flashing light) alarm with vibration. If the alarm is not turned off by the driver within 30 seconds, the APP will send a new message to all associated users, such as: “(NAME OF THE CHILD) HAS BEEN ABANDONED AT GPS 22.3213N 113.9433E) The associated users can access the map on the phone and view the exact location where the child was left unattended, as shown in figure 2 below. Then they can contact the other users and proceed to rescue the unattended child. 9 FR ES IT EN Product maintenance The outer lining fabric is waterproof and removable for washing purposes: the ideal washing conditions are shown on the inside label. Open the zip of the pad cover, pull out the device from the pad and save it in a dry and clean place. Battery life-span is estimated at approximately 2 years. If the buzzer sounds 4 times in a row while placing the child in the seat, or while connecting the pad with the phone, it means that the battery needs to be replaced. To replace the battery: open the zip of the smart PADDY pad and pull out the inside device. Open the exposed black box and replace the battery. Reinsert the device into the pad and close the zip. Warranty PADDY Smart Pad enjoys a Limited Life Warranty against any defects of non-compliance under normal operating conditions of use.
