Page of 58 While attachments can vary, some key points to remember are: Never trim the antenna, as its length is both dependent on top performance as well as FCC certification of the device. When possible, keep the body of the animal away from the antenna, as this will affect the range and efficiency of the antenna. Range will vary depending on the height of the animal. For example, a bird or butterfly in flight will have much further line-of- sight than an animal crawling on the ground. Water dwelling animals will need to have the antenna above the surface of the water in order to operate most effectively.
