Coil Pro What’s in the box Rokoko Coil Pro 01 Power supply USB C to A cable The included power supply is designed for use with the Coil Pro specifically. Do not use it to charge or provide power for any other devices such as phones, laptops or other electronic equipment. Note of caution Adapters for EU, UK, Australia and US How to set up the Coil Pro Rokoko Studio1. Download and install Rokoko Studio by going to rokoko.com/studio Position your Coil Pro2. Rokoko Coil Pro can be placed in the room in multiple ways. For example by directly putting it on a table, floor or other flat, plane surface. Coil Pro can also be mounted on a tripod or upside-down from the ceiling via the thread mount in the foot. 02 Ferro-metals such as iron will affect the electromagnetic field emitted by the Coil Pro. Therefore, for optimal capture performance, Connect your Coil Pro to the computer 3. Use the USB C to A cable to connect the Coil Pro to the computer: The C end connects to Coil Pro and the A end connects to the computer. The USB C connection on Coil Pro is found on the bottom of Coil Pro. avoid placing the Coil Pro close to ferro-metals and secure uninterrupted capture space. The Coil Pro is not producing a field and is thereby not functional for recordings in this PC-connected state. Power up your Coil Pro5. Locate the included power supply and connect it to your Coil Pro. The same USB-C port/slot that was used to attach to the PC can now be used to power up the device into an active state for recordings. If you don’t see any prompts to update when your devices are connected, it means you have the latest firmware already. Be sure to use the specific power supply included with the Coil Pro. Also, do not use this included power supply to power other devices than Coil Pro. Update firmware4. Open Rokoko Studio and check for new firmware updates. We always recommend updating to the latest firmware version. Pairing Coil Pro and Smartgloves6. When Smartgloves are powered up, they will automatically detect and pair themselves with Coil Pro in Studio. Make sure that Smartgloves are running the latest firmware version. For instructions on firmware update for Smartgloves, please refer to the quick start guide for Smartgloves. Once paired, be sure to calibrate all actors. It is good practice to do so once in a while in-between recordings as well. Record or livestream 3. When everything is set up and calibrated, start recording and see your motion capture in real-time. You can also instead choose 03 Clean4. Use our built-in filters and editing tools to clean up your mocap recordings and have it looking just right. Export5. When you’re done with your recordings, you can batch export using a range of export settings. to just livestream the data to another application like Blender, Unity, Unreal or Maya. The device generates a magnetic field with known strength and is used in a motion capture global positioning application, where a receiver device can determine positioning within the field by fusing sensor EMF + IMU data. 2. When the product is on, the receiver will measure user movement within the field. 3. When the user is too close to the product (approximately 50-70cm), the performance of the sensor fusion is poor, as the EME sensor data becomes saturated. We therefore recommend in regular use for our application, that the user remains at least this distance from the product during regular operation for optimal performance reasons. 4. The product function (generate the necessary field for receiver measurement) at more than 20 cm from the human body, and as mentioned above, this recommended for optimal performance. The device is powered using a AC<>DC power adapter, and is stationary during operation to maintain a stable origin for global positioning. Therefore, RF exposure evaluation is tested at 20 cm.
