Intended use The Beacon Pro serves as a small low power beacon device that is used to trigger a specific action on the Guide-ID Podcatcher Audio Guide. It is intended be used as indicated below. It uses UWB to provide ranging to Podcatcher Pro Audio Guides. It also uses Bluetooth Low Energy transmissions to provide both close range scanning with the Beacon Pro (as an alternative to UWB ranging), as well as extra information for logging purposes. 2 id-man02 2. Safety Information Please read all safety instructions carefully before using this product. Retain these instructions for future reference. 2.1 General Safety •Use this product only for its intended purpose as described in this manual. •Do not use this product if it appears damaged or malfunctions. •Keep the product away from liquids and moisture unless otherwise specified. •Do not attempt to repair or modify this product yourself. Contact Guide-ID for service. 2.2 Battery Safety This product contains a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Observe the following precautions: •Do not attempt to open, disassemble, or access the battery compartment. The battery is permanently sealed inside the product and is not intended to be replaced by the user. •Do not expose to extreme temperatures. Avoid exposing the product to temperatures above 45°C (113°F) or below 0°C (32°F). Do not leave the product in direct sunlight, in a vehicle on hot days, or near heat sources. •Do not expose to fire or heat. Never dispose of the product in fire or incinerate. The battery may explode or release hazardous materials. •Do not crush, puncture, or apply excessive pressure. Physical damage to the battery can cause overheating, fire, or leakage. •Stop using immediately if you notice swelling, leakage, unusual odor, or excessive heat. Discontinue use and contact Guide-ID for instructions on safe disposal. •Use only the provided charger or approved charging accessories. Using incompatible chargers may damage the battery and void the warranty. 2.3 Disposal and Recycling This product contains a lithium-ion battery and electronic components that require special disposal: •Do not dispose of this product in household waste.
