This unit is an additional desk phone compatible with KX-TGW420. (The corresponding models are subject to change without notice.) You must register this desk phone with your base unit (KX-TGW420) before it can be used. This installation manual describes only the steps needed to register and begin using the desk phone. WARNING Power connection RU se only the power source marked on the product. RDo not overload power outlets and extension cords. This can result in the risk of fire or electric shock. RCompletely insert the AC adaptor/power plug into the power outlet. Failure to do so may cause electric shock and/or excessive heat resulting in a fire. RRegularly remove any dust, etc. from the AC adaptor/ power plug by pulling it from the power outlet, then wiping with a dry cloth. Radio waves emitted from this product may cause such devices to malfunction resulting in an accident. CAUTION Installation and location RT he AC adaptor is used as the main disconnect device. Ensure that the AC outlet is installed near the product and is easily accessible. Note when using Alkaline batteries for power back-up RT he batteries should be used correctly, otherwise the unit may be damaged due to battery leakage. RDo not charge, short-circuit, disassemble, or heat the batteries. RDo not dispose of batteries in a fire. RRemove all the batteries when replacing. RDo not mix old, new or different types of batteries. RIt is recommended that batteries are replaced annually. RIt is recommended that batteries are replaced after a power outage. The device does not use the provisions of 47CFR 15.323 (c) (6), random waiting mechanism is not used in this system. 2. The provisions of 47CFR 15.323 (c) (10) and 47CFR 15.323 (c) (11) are not used to extend the range of spectrum occupied over space or time for the purpose of denying fair access to spectrum to other devices. 3. Only the Deskset will act as the initiating device, which will initiate the establishment of the duplex connection. 4. The device complies with the provisions of 47CFR 15.319(f). The device shall automatically discontinue transmission in case of either absence of information to transmit or operational failure. These provisions are not intended to preclude transmission of control and signaling information or use of repetitive codes used by certain digital technologies to complete frame or burst intervals.
