PCTEST MPE REPORT FCC Measurement Report REVIEWED BY: QUALITY MANAGER TEST REPORT S/N: 15. 240920544.ACJ TEST DATES: Sept 22, 2004 EUT TYPE: Panasonic Toughbook w/ SONY Ericsson PCMCIA Card FCC ID: ACJ9TGCF-282 PAGE 1 OF 3 © 2004 PCTEST Engineering Laboratory, Inc. RF Exposure Evaluation - Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) 1. Introduction This document attempts to prove the safety of radiation generated by RF devices to the human body. The limit for Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE), specified in FCC 1.1210, is listed below. The power generated by this product is measured by a power meter. Through use of the Friis transmission formula and the maximum gain of the antenna, the distance from the product at which compliance with the MPE limit is achieved may be calculated. Alternatively, near field measurements may be performed to demonstrate compliance at a specific measurement distance. Near field probe: Wandel & Goltermann EMR-20. 2. RF Exposure Limit According to FCC 1.1310: the criteria listed in the following table shall be used to evaluate the environmental impact of human exposure to radio-frequency (RF) radiation as specified in 1.1307(b). LIMITS FOR MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE EXPOSURE (MPE) Frequency Range (MHz) Electric Field Strength (V/m) Magnetic Field Strength (A/m) Power Density (mW/cm 2 ) Average Time (Minutes) (A) Limits For Occupational / Control Exposures 30-300 61.4 .163 1.0 6 300-1500 ... ... This paragraph contains conducted output power, EIRP & ERP measurements for the EUT. In all cases, the peak output power is within the specified limits. Method of Measurements: The EUT was set up for the max. Output power with pseudo random data modulation. The power was measured with R&S Spectrum Analyzer ESIB 40 (peak) These measurements were done at 3 frequencies, 824.2 MHz, 836.6 MHz and 848.8 MHz (bottom, middle and top of operational frequency range) for GSM-850 1850.2 MHz, 1880.0 MHz and 1909.8 MHz (bottom, middle and top of operational frequency range) for PCS-1900 Test report no.: EMC_635FCC22-24_2004 Issue date: 2004-04-29 Page 8 (81) Conducted (GSM-850) Limits: Power Control Level Nominal Peak Output Power Tolerance (dB) 5 ≤33dBm (2W)* ± 2 *GSM Specification – ETSI EN 300 910 V8.5.0 (2000-07) Section 4.1 {GSM05.05 Version 8.5.0 Release 1999} Power Measurements: Frequency (MHz) Average Power during burst (dBm) 824.2 31.72 836.6 32.03 848.8 32.32 Conducted (PCS-1900) Limits: Power Control Level Nominal Peak Output Power Tolerance (dB) 0 ≤30dBm (1W)* ± 2 *GSM Specification – ETSI EN 300 910 V8.5.0 (2000-07) Section 4.1 {GSM05.05 Version 8.5.0 Release 1999} Power Measurements: Frequency (MHz) Average Po…
