To program this information into your unit, complete all the instructions on pages 7 to 9. l Note that the images of copied or received documents will remain on the used ink film. Use discretion when disposing of the used ink film. l Do not rub or use an eraser on the printed side of recording paper, as the print may smear. 3 Important safety instructions! When using this unit, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury. 1.Read and understand all instructions. 2.Follow all warnings and instructions marked on this unit. 3.Unplug this unit from power outlets before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning. 4.Do not use this unit near water, for example near a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink, or the like. 5.Place the unit securely on a stable surface. If you are not sure of the type of power supplied to your home, consult your dealer or local power company. 8.For safety purposes this unit is equipped with a three prong grounded plug. If you do not have this type of outlet, please have one installed. Do not use any type of adaptor plug to defeat this safety feature. 9.Do not place objects on the power cord. Install the unit where no one can step or trip on the cord. 10.Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords. This can result in the risk of fire or electric shock. 11.Never push any objects through slots in this unit. This may result in the risk of fire or electric shock. Never spill any liquid on the unit. 12.To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble this unit. Take the unit to an authorized service center when service is required. OTHER INFORMATION: l Keep the unit away from electrical noise generating devices, such as fluorescent lamps and motors. l The unit should be kept free from dust, high temperature and vibration. l The unit should not be exposed to direct sunlight. l Do not place heavy objects on top of this unit. l Do not touch the plug with wet hands. Note: l Operating near 2.4GHz electrical appliances may cause interference. Move away from the electrical appliances and/or press the CH (Channel) button. l Consult the manufacturer of any personal medical devices, such as pacemakers, to determine if they are adequately shielded from external RF (radio frequency) energy. (The unit operates in the frequency range of 2401MHz to 2472MHz, and the power output level can range from 0.001 watts to 0.20 watts.) EXHIBIT A STATEMENT OF SECURITY CODE This facsimile with cordless telephone has four million digital security coding combinations that are provided by the following means: • Provided with 22 bits (four million) for security codes. • When the handset is not on the base unit, the 22 bit codes changes by the free-running timer. • When the user puts the handset on the base unit, the free-running timer ceases and decides the exact security code. The base unit sends the security code information to the handset. • When shipped from the factory, the security code is decided by the manufacture. However, once the user uses the cordless handset, the security code is constantly changing by the free-running timer.

These measurement tests were conducted at PCTEST Engineering Laboratory, Inc. facility in New Concept Business Park, Guilford Industrial Park, Columbia, Maryland. The site address is 6660-B Dobbin Road, Columbia, MD 21045. The test site is one of the highest points in the Columbia area with an elevation of 390 feet above mean sea level. The site coordinates are 39° 11'15" N latitude and 76° 49'38" W longitude. The facility is 1.5 miles North of the FCC laboratory, and the ambient signal and ambient signal strength are approximately equal to those of the FCC laboratory. There are no FM or TV transmitters within 15 miles of the site. The detailed description of the measurement facility was found to be in compliance with the requirements of § 2.948 according to ANSI C63.4 on October 19, 1992. PCTEST Location The map at right shows the location of the PCTEST Lab, its proximity to the FCC Lab, the Columbia vicinity area, the Baltimore- Washington International (BWI) airport, and the city of Baltimore, and the Washington, D.C. area.
