American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 January 30, 2006 RE: FCC ID: BEJKG245_ATCB003131 Attention: Jay Kim I have a few comments on this Application. Please note that further comments may arise in response to answers provided to the questions below. 1. Please note that only the end result is provided for EIRP values of the fundamental. How was this value determined (i.e. what was the signal generator drive level, what was the gain value of the substitution antenna etc)? Please provide the factors used to determine EIRP on page 6 of the report. 2. Please note that the documentation for this device states that it has GPRS capabilities, however, SAR does not appear to have been tested for this modulation. Please explain. 3. Please note that while page 18 the technical documentation mentions 1850-1910MHz PCS, the stated frequency bands listed on page 10 does not show the 1850-1910MHz range. Consequently, the technical specifications / operational description seems to cover the European and other country frequencies but not the US frequencies. Please explain and please provide an operation/technical description for the device being certified in the proper frequency range. Dennis Ward mailto:[email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the sender.

The receive antenna height and turn table rotation was adjusted for the highest reading on the receive spectrum analyzer. For CDMA signals, a peak detector is used, with RBW = VBW = 3MHz. For AMPS, GSM, and NADC TDMA signals, a peak detector is used, with RBW = VBW = 1MHz, A Horn antenna was substituted in place of the EUT. This Horn antenna was driven by a signal generator and the level of the signal generator was adjusted to obtain the same receive spectrum analyzer reading. This spurious level is recorded. For reading 1GHz, the above procedure is repeated using horn antennas and the difference between the gain of the horn and an isotropic or dipole antenna are taken into consideration.
