Introduction This user’s guide contains important information on the use and operation of this phone. Please read all the information carefully for optimal performance and to prevent any damage to or misuse of the phone. Any changes or modifications not expressly approved in this user’s guide could void your warranty for this equipment. Use of phone cases with magnetic locks with slide type phones has caused problems such as loss of network signal and phones powering off. Menu 6 For Your Safety Please read these simple guidelines. Not following these guidelines may be dangerous or illegal. Further detailed information is given in this manual. WARNING! • Mobile Phones must be switched off at all times in aircrafts. • Do not hold the phone in your hand while driving. • Do not use your phone near petrol stations, fuel depots, chemical plants or blasting operations. • For your safety, use ONLY specified ORIGINAL batteries and chargers. • Do not handle the phone with wet hands while it is being charged. It may cause an electric shock or seriously damage your phone. • Keep the phone in a safe place out of small children’s reach. It includes small parts which, if detached, may cause a choking hazard. CAUTION! • Switch off the phone in any area where required by special regulations. For example, do not use your phone in hospitals or it may affect sensitive medical equipment. • Emergency calls may not be available under all mobile networks. Therefore, you should never depend solely on your mobile phone for emergency calls. • Only use ORIGINAL accessories to avoid damage to your phone. • All radio transmitters carry risks of interference with electronics in close proximity. Minor interference may affect TVs, radios, PCs, etc. • Batteries should be disposed of in accordance with relevant legislation. • Do not dismantle the phone or battery. For Your Safety 8 Guidelines for Safe and Efficient Use Guidelines for Safe and Efficient Use Vehicle Mounted External Antenna (optional, if available.) A minimum separation distance of 7.9 inches (20) must be maintained between the user/bystander and the vehicle mounted external antenna to satisfy FCC RF exposure requirements. For more information about RF exposure, please visit the FCC website at www.fcc.gov FCC Part 15 Class B Compliance This device and its accessories comply with part 15 of FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device and its accessories may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device and its accessories must accept any interference received, including interference that cause undesired operation. American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 September 6, 2006 RE: FCC ID: BEJKU800_ATCB003963 Attention: Jay Kim I have a few comments on this Application. Please note that further comments may arise in response to answers provided to the questions below. 1. Please provide the required Bluetooth operational description. 15B comments 2. Please note that conducted emissions is a required measurement for part 15B. Please note that the device contains an AC adapter. It is assumed that the device can operate during connection to the PC while charging. Please provide conducted emissions measurement using the ac adapter for the device. 3. Please note that conducted emission test data must be provided even when DC power is obtained from the USB port. Part 15 states, “Devices that include, or make provision for, the use of battery chargers which permit operating while charging, AC adaptors or battery eliminators or that connect to the AC power lines indirectly, obtaining their power through another device which is connected to the AC power lines, shall be tested to demonstrate compliance with the conducted limits.” As this device can obtain DC power from a device (i.e. via the USB port) that is connected to the AC mains, conducted emissions is required on the device that is connected to the AC mains. In this case the PC. Please provide conducted emissions of the notebook PC with the phone connected to the notebook and operating in typical fashion. 4. Please note that the report does not clearly indicate that data was being transferred between the phone and the PC during part 15B testing. Please verify that data transfer was taking place during all part 15B testing. 15C comments 5. FYI - Please note that average readings in accordance with DA00705 for FHSS devices are to be taken using a video BW of 10Hz. Please note that the test data showing average measurements on pages 22-24 of the part 15C report show a video bandwidth of 3kHz. Please note that this is not an average reading. However, as the device is compliant at this video BW this comment is only FYI so the error does not occur in subsequent reports. Please use the correct video BW as specified in ANSI C63.4 and DA00705 6. Please note that the power measurement section (section 6) of the part 15C test report does not provide information on the analyzer settings used. Please provide the analyzer settings used to make power measurements. Please ensure that these settings are within that required by DA00705 and acceptable FCC procedures. Dennis Ward mailto:[email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. The receive antenna height and turn table rotation was adjusted for the highest reading on the receive spectrum analyzer. For CDMA signals, a peak detector is used, with RBW = VBW = 3MHz. For AMPS, GSM, and NADC TDMA signals, a peak detector is used, with RBW = VBW = 1MHz, A Horn antenna was substituted in place of the EUT. This Horn antenna was driven by a signal generator and the level of the signal generator was adjusted to obtain the same receive spectrum analyzer reading. This spurious level is recorded. For reading 1GHz, the above procedure is repeated using horn antennas and the difference between the gain of the horn and an isotropic or dipole antenna are taken into consideration.
