American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 January 20, 2006 RE: LG Electronics FCC ID: BEJRD6330 I have a few comments on this Application. Depending on your responses, kindly understand there may be additional comments. 1.) The manual on page 10 appears to indicate that this device is capable of analog AMPS-FM within the 824 - 829 MHz band. If so, then AMPS data should also be presented in addition to CDMA. Please review. 2.) Radiated power for Part 22 should be reported in terms of ERP and not EIRP. Please review. 3.) Is this device capable of being attached to a computer? If so then this device may be viewed as a Computer Peripheral and must be either Certified or DofC in addition to the requirements for Part 22 Licensed services. 4.) Test results in Section 7.3 of the Test Report indicate GSM and not CDMA. Please correct. Was this test performed to the 10 th harmonic? 5.) Kindly provide actual label artwork for this device as it is intended to be sold. William H. Graff President and Director of Engineering mailto: [email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. The receive antenna height and turn table rotation was adjusted for the highest reading on the receive spectrum analyzer. For CDMA signals, a peak detector is used, with RBW = VBW = 3MHz. For AMPS, GSM, and NADC TDMA signals, a peak detector is used, with RBW = VBW = 1MHz, A Horn antenna was substituted in place of the EUT. This Horn antenna was driven by a signal generator and the level of the signal generator was adjusted to obtain the same receive spectrum analyzer reading. This spurious level is recorded. For reading 1GHz, the above procedure is repeated using horn antennas and the difference between the gain of the horn and an isotropic or dipole antenna are taken into consideration. Power Output is ERP. SAR compliance for body-worn operating conditions is limited to the specific configuration tested for this filing. Body-worn operations are restricted to belt-clips, holsters or similar accessories that have no metallic component in the assembly and must provide at least 15mm separation between the device and the users body. End users must be informed of the body worn requirements for satisfying RF Exposure compliance. The highest reported SAR values are: Body-Worn: 1.24W/kg; Head 0.99W/kg.
