Operational Description

Functional description of the EUT M-200 The EUT ( Equipment Under Test ) is a mobile bodypack transmitter of a Lavalier Microphone. It is using FM modulation and has peak deviation of +/- 15 KHz. The power supply comes from 3 pieces of AA type battery, generating 4.5V DC. The signal source could be (1) a low impedance Lavalier Microphone ( MT ) or (2) a high impedance musical instruments or audio source such as CD Player (GT ).The connection of the signal source to the transmitter is via a 4 pin connector. Before the audio signal is fed into the modulator, it undergoes level control limiting, compression and high cut circuit to obtain optimum signal to noise ratio. A 32.768 KHz pilot signal is also added to the modulator to be transmitted as a code. The basic oscillator of the transmitter is an extremely temperature stable quartz crystal with maximum deviation of +/- 0.005 %. The 3 overtone frequency of the quartz crystal is used and the modulated signal goes through a frequency multiplier circuit before being amplified and radiated out through an antenna, which in this case the audio cable of the signal source.
