RM520C / RM540C RM520S / RM540S User Guide Dra v2 Getting Started This guide provides an overview of RM520C, RM540C, RM520S, and RM540S units. RM520C, RM540C, RM520S, and RM540S Overview These remote monitor units (RMU) are typically used to monitor assets for oil and gas applicaons. All units are powered by 4 AA baeries. Models: Model Analog Inputs Switch Control Radio RM520C 3 Yes Cellular RM540C 2 not used Cellular RM520S 3 Yes Satellite RM540S 2 not used Satellite Bluetooth interface is acvated by placing magnet near right side of unit. Blue LED will illuminate to indicate Bluetooth is acve. ISED Canada Statements and Warnings: FCC Statements and Warning: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at his own expense. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. In order to comply with FCC RF Exposure requirements, this device must be installed to provide at least 20cm separation from the human body at all times. This device contains licence-exempt transmitter(s)/receiver(s) that comply with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s licence-exempt RSS(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1. This device may not cause interference. 2. The following two radios are collocated in the device: BLE (2.4GHz) transmitter – FCC ID DJU626733, IC ID: 2466B-626733 Cellular Transmitter – FCC ID XMR202005BG95M5, IC ID: 10224A-2020BG95M5 The EUT is fixed when operated, with the user no closer than 20cm from the antenna during transmission. Page 4 of 7 1.4 FCC RF Exposure Exemption 447498 D04 Interim General RF Exposure Guidance v01 was used as a basis for RF exposure requirements. The SAR-Based Exemption per 1.1307(b)(3)(i)(B) was considered for each radio based on the calculations below. Maximum power (P, EIRP) was obtained from the MPE and Test reports for each of the radios being considered. Table 1 below outlines the Maximum Permissible Exposure Limits (MPE).
