American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 September 27, 2007 RE: Thomson, Inc. FCC ID: G95EPW001 I have a few comments on this Application. Depending on your responses, kindly understand there may be additional comments. 1.) Please make sure the application is properly filled in, especially Section 1, lines 4, 5(a), 5(b) and 5(c). Please remember that all transmitters must also show requested RF power [linear units, not dBm] on the application too. 2.) Please review the differences in your Radiated and Conducted test setups. Why are no computers or peripherals connected during radiated test? 3.) Does this device qualify as a hybrid under 15.247(f)? If so, then all the requirements of both frequency hopping spread spectrum systems (DSS) and digital transmission systems (DTS) must be satisfied. Kindly review your filing carefully. 4.) Please review your RF output power test. Was this measurement performed with hopping on or off? FYI: Be sure to list your RF power in linear units not dBm. 5.) The Internal Photographs are of insufficient clarity to adequately see the device PWB. Please provide a new set of clearer, better focused Internal Photographs. 6.) FYI: Looking at your Test Report, the RF power appears very low for a typical 15.247 device. Many of the questions I have asked about this filing might be eliminated if it can be shown that the radiated field strength is below the limits of 15.249. You can use any modulation in either hopping or non-hopping mode and do not have to bother with any RF Exposure questions as long as the field strength limits meet 15.249. This idea may also apply to the companion filing under FCC ID: G95S25. William H. Graff President mailto: [email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the sender.
