. TO REMOTE START THE VEHICLE: When you want to start your vehicle, • Press on the two way or button on the standard transmitter. Press Twice if the unit is programmed for safety start • The parking light will activate to indicate the re mote start received the signal. • The engine will start in approximately 5 seconds. • Once the engine is running, after couple seconds t he parking lights will turn on and the climate controls will activate and adjust t he vehicle’s interior temperature to your preset setting. • The vehicle will run for a programmable 5 to 30 mi nute cycle before shutting down. NOTE: The Remote Start Unit will not start the vehi cle if any one of the following conditions exists: 1. The hood is opened. 2. The brake pedal is pressed. 3. The optional remote start enable toggle is switc hed to the “OFF” position. (If installed) 4. The gear selector is in any gear other then “PAR K” or “NEUTRAL”. SAFE START (Child safety mode) Factory default is set to press the or button once on the transmitter to start the vehicle. Safety Start feature can be programmed to eliminate an accidental remote start: 1. The user presses the transmitter or buttons twice within 3 seconds to start the vehicle. NOTE: Contact your installing dealer to de-activate this feature for one push start OPERATE THE VEHICLE WHILE RUNNING FROM THE REMOTE S TART: To operate the vehicle while the engine is running from the remote start, • Insert the ignition key and turn it to “ON” (not t he start) position. • Press the brake pedal. Note : If the brake pedal is pressed before the key is i n the ON position, the engine will shut down. TEMPORARY STOP FEATURE: This feature allows the vehicle to remain running a fter the key has been removed from the ignition. This feature is useful for occasions when you wish to exit and lock the vehicle for short periods of time, but would like t o leave the motor running and the climate control on. • Before turning off the engine, press the or button on the transmitter and the LED indicator will flash 3 times to confirm ent er. • Turn the ignition key to OFF position. (The engine will stay running.) • The engine will run until the pre-programmed time elapsed or shutdown input is received. TO TURN OFF THE REMOTE START: When the engine is running (by remote start), if yo u want to stop it, Press or button TWICE on the remote transmitter under the r emote start mode. . Press the brake pedal The vehicle will shut down and turn off the parking light to indicate the engine has stopped. SHUT-DOWN INPUT FOR REMOTE STARTER: If any of the following conditions exist while the system is operating, the engine will not start or will shut down immediately : 1. The hood is opened. 2. The brake pedal is pressed. 3. Engine is over-revved. {“Tachometer checking typ e” only} 4. The pre-programmed run time (5 /10 / 20 / 30 min utes) has elapsed. 5.
